It’s amazing how one’s life can change because of one decision, big or small. When we make the big decisions and get it right, we enjoy the joy that comes from that decision and the change it brings is ever satisfactory as we would always look back to relish that moment of decisiveness.

So let me give us a back story. Our Real Estate company was running a promo on one of our landed properties. The thing here is that there are incentives for people who would sell a unit and upward of our property. For starters, I didn’t know how that was going to play out or what to do for a start. I didn’t even know I was going to make a single sale but one day I thought to myself, what’s the worst that can happen? People will say no.

So I decided to go through my list of prospects and pitch our property to them. But here’s the gist, while I was talking to them, an idea dropped into my head. Why not call your elder brother and tell him about your intention to also buy this property. He promised he was going to support your business and here is an opportunity. A cheap one. So with trembling hands, I called my brother and told him. I started by telling him not be yell or be mad that I have a request for him.

He listened and then gave me the money I asked for after a while. So here’s where the dilemma set in. I was torn in between two opinions, to use the money for the land or to use it and run ads for my business. My economic mind told me to use it and run ads though it wouldn’t be enough. If have to sort for someone else to borrow more to make up for the ads. When I run the ads, I’d make sales and then still buy the land but maybe at an higher price. Another mind told me to reach out to my foster father and ask him for his counsel. He’s a very spiritual man, listens to the HolySpirit and a wise counselor.

So I sent him a VN on Whatsap explaining my situation and asked him what he thought. Whether I should use the money to pay for the land payments or run my business ad. He wasn’t online at the moment and delayed in reaching back to me. So while I was awaiting his response which didn’t come until the previous day in the evening. I had already made up my mind to use the money for the ad.

Now the promo my company was running for one of our real estate property is that people can key into buying a lot of land with a hundred thousand Naira in my countries currency and then that would give them access to a raffle ticket that would be used to do a raffle draw where one person would win a free plot of land and three persons would win 50% discount.

That being said, my Father reached out the next day and said I should pray about it that he already know what I should do. He said I should use it as an Avenue to hear the Holy Spirit speak to me. Well, my mind was already made up so I told him that I should use the money to run my business as but he said no. Pay for your land and you will still get money to run your business ads. Well, that didn’t make sense to me and I totally thought it was against economic principles for making more money. Well, like I said, I had always known him as someone who hears God and I took that big decision to listen to him even though the counsel doesn’t make sense.

I paid for the land and got my ticket and told him I had paid for it. This singular decision changed my life. The day for the raffle draw came and I had a silent prayer and that was for at least one of my prospect (and that reminds me, I got some people who subscribed for land deals with me) would win the free land. Well, God had better plans. At the end of the raffle draw, I became the favoured winner for the free plot of land. That was how I became a land lady.

That singular decision changed my life. Guys, what if I didn’t listen to that precious counsel that didn’t make sense?
