Movie Review: 'Exterritorial' ~ A German Action Thriller Movie
I’ve got another action movie I watched over the weekend and it’s titled "Exterritorial." It’s a German action movie. I was looking for something to cool me down after exhausting myself with loads of work I did, and watching this movie, it wasn’t like those “what-has-just-happened-here” kind of movie. You know the feeling when you’ve just wasted your data to download a movie that didn’t make sense? Not this one, I promise.

The only thing that, perhaps might not make sense to you was how a young woman with a small body could fight and throw down heavy guys, but it’s still a nice one. Exterritorial really surprised me with lots of action scenes and it was impressive.
The movie revolves around Sara Wulf (Jeanne Goursaud), who was an ex-soldier with the German Army whose husband got killed in action in Afghanistan and suffered PTSD due to that. It was after the death of her husband she discovered she was pregnant and had a son named Joshua, she calls him Josh in short.

She later got a job offer in America. While at the US consulate in Frankfurt with her son to get a work visa, Josh suddenly disappeared from the playroom as they were waiting for their numbers to be called.
The worst part, the consulate staff denied and claimed that Josh was never with Sara and because of what she was suffering from, they thought she was imagining things. No one believed her, and they had to show her CCTV camera as proof that she was all alone all through the process as she talked to herself and acted like someone who was crazy. Sara was illegally kept in a room while they helped search for her son, as said, but nothing was done.
As a mother and with the only evidence of Josh’s toy she found in the playroom and to prove to everyone that she was not acting crazy nor was it because of the PTSD she was suffering from, she set to find her son by all means and with her training skill as a soldier, she fought her way through.

The movie is a good one and I love how Sara acted the role. She never let anything stop her, even when they didn’t allow her to go through some places in the consulate, but she outsmarted everyone, especially with the help of Irina (Lera Abova), who is also being held in the consulate against her will.
Irina reveals that she’s the daughter of a rich German criminal who was killed by the government, and she has the proof in a USB Drive that contains how the assassination was carried out, which they wanted from her.
While on their mission to find their son and also to help Irina escape with the help of Sara, she found out that the security officer Kynch (Dougray Scott) was also a soldier in Afghanistan who happened to be responsible for the death of 8 soldiers including her and the husband where, luckily she was the only survivor.

Kynch has been the mastermind behind her ordeal all the while. He wanted to eliminate Sara because he knew she would uncover the truth if she found out about the incident. He made her get an offer in America and made her come to the consulate where the kidnapping of her son took place. Sara concluded he was the one who kidnapped Josh.
It was a movie filled with tension, and I loved how Sara played each role. One could see the determination of a mother who was trying to reunite with her son and ensure nothing happened to him while also battling with her illness.
At that point, she also abducted Kynch’s daughter just to make him release her son, but everything turned awry at some point. I almost thought Sara would lose her life and lose the chance of seeing her son again, whom she wanted to take to meet his father’s family.
The movie was fun, the characters were sharp and each scene was clear. Everyone played amazingly and I must appreciate their performances. I love how Sara was able to prove her innocence and get her son back.

The movie was filled with gaslighting, and despite how the officials denied seeing Josh with her, Sara refused to accept such a narrative. Her persistence fascinated me and I give kudos to her for fighting with everything in her.
What even amazes me was how technology could be so powerful to the extent that they had to cut off Josh from Sara’s hand making it look like she was the only one in the consulate and Josh was never there. That’s how far anyone would go when they want to forcefully destroy you. But I’m glad everything turned out the way I expected.
Exterritorial is worth watching especially if you are interested in a thriller movie combined with intense action with psychological intrigue.

I will definitely be adding this to my watch list, when a young woman is throwing hefty men off like paper give me weird satisfaction in a movie lol
Hahaha 😆 same here, too.
I just love those kinds of actions especially from my gender. Lol
I just finished seeing this movie, and I liked it as well. I'm not gonna lie. It portrays the love of a mother despite the times that they try to play with her head and make her believe that she was all alone at the embassy; a thought inside of her was still fighting it.
I was also dumbfounded when they denied they didn't see her son with her. That was when I knew something was up. It was an interesting movie and I loved it, too.
Yeah!
I like when a woman is very determined and stands her ground. Who says only men should be heros? 😂😂
So with this, I have two movies to watch now. Very nice
Hahaha. I love when women are heroes too in a movie. There's always much fun in those kinds of movies.
Yes oooo
