Tested the board service of Ryanair on my return flight to Vienna. Is it worth it?

Habe bei meine Rückflug nach Wien das Boardservice von Ryanair getestet. Zahlt es sich aus?

Wollte darüber schon früher berichten, aber dann ist die Sache mit meinem verschwundenen Koffer dazwischen gekommen, aber zum Glück habe ich den Koffer am nächsten Tag zugestellt bekommen, was eine große Erleichterung war. Das war auch ein Fehler vom Flughafen nicht von Ryanair.

Beim Rückflug nutzte ich die Gelegenheit, um das kostenpflichtige Boardservice zu testen, was ich mir bereits beim Hinflug vorgenommen habe.

Diesmal wurde im Flieger keine Speisekarte und keine Duty-Free-Shop-Karte verteilt.

Das hat den Umsatz merklich geschmälert, da die Passagiere nicht einmal wussten, was es genau zum Kaufen gibt.

Da ich die Karte aber bereits beim Hinflug studiert habe (vielleicht wird das vorausgesetzt), habe ich nachgefragt, ob es auch warme Speisen gibt und die gab es tatsächlich, wurden aber nicht beworben.

Habe mir eine Lasagne bestellt, die dann nach 15 Minuten zuverlässig geliefert wurde. War sehr heiß und ein TK-Produkt aus UK, dass augenscheinlich im Flieger aufgewärmt wurde. War ok, aber auch nichts anderes als eine TK-Lasagne vom Supermarkt, aber ein bisschen größer als gedacht.

Positiv war, dass es ein Menüangebot gegeben hat. Inklusive Cola und einer Mini-Packung Chips kam das auf 11,90 Euro, was meiner Meinung nach ein guter Preis ist.

Fazit: Wenn man Hunger hat, kann man das machen, aber es ist kein Gourmet-Menü wie bei Austrian/Lufthansa-Flügen, war aber ok. Wartezeit muss man einberechnen, aber es ist sich alles gut ausgegangen, trotz Kurzstrecke. Preis war top meiner Meinung nach.

Was sagt ihr dazu? Bin positiv überrascht, dass es bei Ryanair auch ein Bordservice mit warmen Speisen gibt. Das sollte man meiner Meinung nach stärker bewerben.

I wanted to report about my board service experience earlier, but then the thing with my missing suitcase came in between, but fortunately I got the suitcase back on the next day, which was a great relief. This was also a mistake by the airport, not Ryanair.

On the return flight, I took the opportunity to test the paid board service, which I had already decided to do on the outbound flight.

This time, no menu or duty free store card was distributed on the plane.

This reduced the turnover noticeably, since the passengers did not know, what there is exactly they can buy.

However, since I had already studied the card on the outbound flight (perhaps this is assumed), I asked if there was any hot meal available and indeed there was, but it was not advertised.

Ordered a Lasagne, which was then reliably delivered after 15 minutes. Was very hot and a frozen product from the UK that was apparently warmed up on the plane. Was ok, but also nothing more special than a frozen Lasagne from the supermarket, but a bit larger than expected.

Positive was that there was a menu offer. Including Coke and a mini-pack of chips, that came to 11.90 euros, which is a good price in my opinion.

Conclusion: If you are hungry, you can do that, but it is not a Gourmet menu like on Austrian/Lufthansa flights, but it was ok. Waiting time you have to take into account, but it all turned out well, despite short distance. Price was very reasonable in my opinion.

What do you think? I am positively surprised that there is also an on-board service with hot food on Ryanair flights. That should be advertised more in my opinion.
