Schwarzenegger detained more than 2 hours at Munich airport over not declaring a luxury watch he wanted to donate to a climate charity
Arnold Schwarzenegger wurde mehr als 2 Stunden am Münchner Flughafen festgehalten, da er eine Luxus-Uhr nicht deklarierte, die er einer Klima-Schutz-Charity in Österreich spenden wollte.
Angeblich musste Arnold 35 Tausend Euro Zollgebühren am Flughafen bezahlen (Laut Bild 9 Tausend Zollgebühren, 35 Tausend Streitwert). Da das Kreditkarten-Terminal vom Zoll nicht funktionierte, versuchte Arnold das Geld von einem Bankomaten abzuheben, was ebenfalls wegen der hohen Summe nicht möglich war.
Laut Bild-Zeitung mussten 50% der Zoll-Gebühr in bar bezahlt werden.
Erst später konnte der Zoll ein funktionierendes Karten-Terminal zur Verfügung stellen.
Was für eine Shitshow und Einschränkung der persönlichen Freiheiten, vor allem da es sich um eine Spende für eine gute Sache gehandelt hat. Im Sinne der grünen Ampelregierung in Deutschland sozusagen.
Wahrscheinlich wäre es besser gewesen, statt der Uhr einfach Geld zu spenden.
Das Netz scherzt bereits darüber. In Deutschland funktioniere gar nichts mehr, Grenzen können nicht mehr kontrolliert werden, Coronagelder werden von der Regierung zweckentfremdet, aber gegen Schwarzenegger wird in Deutschland steuerrechtlich ermittelt.
Was sagt ihr dazu? Hätte der Zoll wegen der guten Sache ein Auge zudrücken sollen oder ist Dienst nach Vorschrift in diesem Fall gerechtfertigt?

Arnold Schwarzenegger was detained for more than 2 hours at Munich airport because he did not declare a luxury watch that he wanted to donate to a climate protection charity in Austria.
Arnold allegedly had to pay 35 thousand euros in customs fees at the airport (According to BILD 9 thousand customs duties, 35 thousand value in dispute). As the customs credit card terminal was not working, Arnold tried to withdraw the money from an ATM, which was also not possible due to the large sum involved.
According to the German newspaper "Bild", 50% of the customs fee had to be paid in cash.
It was only later that customs were able to provide a functioning card terminal.
What a shitshow and restriction of personal freedoms, especially as it was a donation for a good cause. In the spirit of the green government in Germany, so to speak.
It would probably have been better to simply donate money instead of the watch.
The internet is already joking about it. Nothing works in Germany anymore, borders can no longer be controlled, corona money is being misappropriated by the government, but Schwarzenegger is being investigated under tax law in Germany.

I think this is a good move and hope it will be very successful.
Wofür die Ware gedacht ist, ist uerheblich. Er hätte ja auch direkt sagen können er hat eine Uhr, die für eine Spende ist, wäre zumindest günstiger geworden.
Und nur weil er Promi ist, sollte die Behandlung nicht anders sein.
Bei 9.000 Euro ein Auge zudrücken? Ich glaube selbst bei 10 Euro ist es schwierig, gerade am Flughafen.
Problem ist ja, dass sonst immer wieder gesagt wird es ist für eine Spende, das kann selbst wenn man eine Spendenquittung später vorlegt nicht 100% geprüft werden.
Hatte nicht Oliver Kahn mal ne 6 Stellige Strafe zu zahlen, weil er sich geweigert hatte zu zahlen für seine nicht deklarieren Maßanzüge?

I agree he should have just issued a check for donation instead of a watch. at least the money can be use immediately.
Wer seine Informationen der Bild-Zeitung entnimmt, sollte sich mit dem rückwärts Rudern gut auskennen. Die Luxusuhr wurde mit der Absicht in die EU eingeführt, sie nicht wieder mit auf den Weg zurückzunehmen. Folglich (wie in den meisten Ländern auch) ist somit eine Einfuhrbesteuerung üblich. Die Uhr wurde in Kitzbühel für 270.000 € versteigert. Der Betrag fließt in eine Umweltstiftung, die Schwarzenegger selbst ins Leben gerufen hat. Kein Cent ist bislang projektorientiert verplant.
Dass die von der Bild-Zeitung in Umlauf gebrachten Summen nicht den Tatsachen entsprechen, benötigt keiner gesonderten Aufmerksamkeit.
Guter Punkt, Informationen aus den Massenmedien muss man immer mit Vorsicht genießen.
Informationen aus sämtlichen Quellen, sollte man prüfen. Bild Nius und Co, sind da aber nochmal schlimmer. Inzwischen hast Du aber überall nur noch clickbaiting.
Ich finde es eher lächerlich, wie sich auf X wieder einige Aufschwingen, die Allesversteher und alles Besserwisser zu sein.
Lasst die Zöllner doch einfach ihren Job machen. Wenn das Geld für die eigene Stiftung war, muss er die Einfuhr erst recht versteuern. Er bekommt ja auch eine sehr schöne Steuergutschrift von wahrscheinlich ca 135.000 € für die Spende an seine eigene Stiftung.
Das ist kein Arnie Bashing. Ich mag den.
Insbesondere, wenn sie aus der Grusel- und Märchenfabrik mit den vier Buchstaben stammen.
Eine kleine Anfrage bei der Pressestelle des Münchener Flughafens zerbröselt das Gemisch aus Populismus, erfundenem Mist und offenkundiger Lüge seitens der Bild-Zeitung innerhalb kurzer Zeit.
Interessanterweise hat weder das Zollamt noch der Münchner Flughafen eine Pressemittelung zu dem Vorfall auf deren Website veröffentlicht.

Looks like there is no form of favoritism
I don't really know how these things work but maybe it was necessary to detain Arnold but I think the sum they extracted from him is somewhat rediculous. Hopefully that's in the past now and both parties can learn from their mistakes if there are any.
