Euro 2024: Austria was unfortunately eliminated by Türkiye 1:2. Match was not broadcast on state TV but on free TV (Servus TV) in Austria.
Gestern ist Österreich leider in einem emotionalen Spiel aus der EM gegen die Türkei ausgeschieden.
Schon in der ersten Spielminute ging die Türkei mit einem Eckball in Führung. Das war bitter für Österreich.
In der zweiten Hälfte dann sogar das 2:0 gegen Österreich.
In der 66 Minute gelang Gregoritsch dann noch das 1:2, aber auf den Ausgleich mussten wir vergeblich warten.
Insgesamt war die Türkei sehr gut im Verteidigen und hatte zwei Eckbälle souverän verwerten können.
Wirklich schade für Österreich, aber ein verdienter Sieg für die Türkei, ganz ohne VAR diesmal.

Unfortunately, Austria was knocked out of the European Championship against Turkey yesterday in an emotional match.
Turkey took the lead with a corner kick in the very first minute of the game. That was bitter for Austria.
In the second half, Austria even went 2:0 down.
Gregoritsch then made it 1-2 in the 66th minute, but Austrians had to wait in vain for an equalizer.
Overall, Turkey defended very well and were able to clear two corners with ease.
A pity for Austria, but a deserved win for Turkey, without VAR this time.

It was such a close game though, I really thought Austria will take it back at the end and make it to extra time.
I kinda feel sorry for Austria, because they have been playing pretty good the whole tournament.
They came back really strong in the second half against Turkey and had a lot of good chances. Unfortunately they could not turn any of them into a goal.
I watched it. I was rooting for Austria in this game. Portugal still remains in the competition, despite the terrible games we have been playing except against Turkey.
It's pretty disappointing Austria couldn't pull through, especially after a strong second half. They really fought hard though 🤔 !WEED

Interessant, dachte der ORF kauft direkt von der UEFA, aber anscheinend kann Servus TV Lizenzen weiterverkaufen. Könnte ein lukratives Geschäftsmodell sein 😄

The team that works hard wins and the other team should practice more for next time.
I did not watch the game, but it always hurts to see a team get kicked out. However, someone was bound to lose and it's good to know that VAR wasn't a part of the issue this time around.
