Discovered a public E-Bike charging station in Vienna, but here is why it's not super practical.
Habe eine öffentliche E-Bike-Lade-Station in der Nähe eines Schwimmbads entdeckt. Das Prinzip ist ähnlich wie eine Handyladestation. Man sperrt den Akku eines E-Bikes in eine Box und kann ihn in der Zwischenzeit aufladen.
Das Problem ist allerdings, dass die Box zu klein für meinen E-Bike-Akku ist, ist im Fahrradsattel-Rohr verbaut und relativ sperrig. Und das zweite Problem ist, da es keine standardisierten Anschlüsse und Ladegeräte für E-Bikes gibt, muss man das Ladegerät und Kabel immer dabei haben. In der Box befindet sich eine normale Steckdose.
Das ist nicht sehr praktisch. Stellt euch vor, ihr hättet ein Motorrad und müsstet beim Tanken immer den passenden Schlauch und Adapter mitnehmen.
Zum Glück gibt es bei normalen Autos und Motorrädern eine standardisierte Tank-Infrastruktur. Mittlerweile auch bei Smartphones.
Bei E-Autos und E-Bikes ist das leider noch nicht der Fall. Bei E-Autos muss man immer sein eigenes Ladekabel mitnehmen. Ist idiotisch. Bei E-Bikes sogar noch das Ladegerät, das oft relativ groß und schwer ist.
Was sagt ihr dazu? Warum wird die Ladeinfrastruktur für E-Bikes (und Ladekabeln bei E-Autos) nicht standardisiert?

I discovered a public e-bike charging station near a swimming pool in Vienna. The principle is similar to a cell phone charging station. You lock the battery of an e-bike into a box and can charge it in the meantime. Sounds cool, but here is the problem:
The charging box is too small for my e-bike battery, which is built into the bike saddle tube and relatively bulky. And the second problem is that, since there are no standardized plugs and chargers for e-bikes, you always have to carry the charger and cable with you. There is just a normal power outlet in the box.
That's not very practical. Imagine if you had a motorcycle and always had to carry the right hose and adapter with you when need to refuel your bike.
Fortunately, there is a standardized fueling infrastructure for normal cars and motorcycles. By now, this is also the case for smartphones.
Unfortunately, this is not yet the case for electric cars and e-bikes. With electric cars, you always have to carry your own charging cable. It's ridiculous. With e-bikes, you even have to carry your own charger, which is often relatively large and bulky.
What do you think? Why isn't the charging infrastructure for e-bikes (and charging cables for electric cars) standardized in the EU?
Hoffentlich passiert da nichts. Akkus laden in geschlossenen Boxen, hört sich nicht recht heiss an.
Guter Punkt, Lüftungsschlitze wären eine Idee, aber wenigstens befindet sich die Ladestation im Freien und nicht direkt in der Sonne.
Quch wenn viele schimpfen über die EI, aber dann muss die EU mal wieder für ein Standard sorgen. Sonst wird da nichts draus fürchte ich.
Habe kürzlich das erste mal eine gesehen, in Baden Wartenberg. Die war aber nur so groß wie die für Autos, also etwa wie ein kleiner Stromkasten, nur höher.
Einheitliche Ladekabeln und E-Tank Anschlüsse bei E-Autos und E-Bikes wären tatsächlich mal eine sinnvolle Regulierung wie usb-c bei den Smartphones. Denke bei E-Autos sollte das Kabel auch direkt bei der Ladestation angebracht sein, damit man nicht umständlich ein eigenes Kabel anschließen muss.
Gibt es nicht für E Autos inzwischen eine, die bald umgesetzt werden muss? Hatte nicht wer darüber hier berichtet, nur das die leider nicht so gut umgesetzt wurde. Da war glaube das Problem wegen Schnellladung und nicht schnell oder so.
Ja eben das mit den Ladekabeln Für Smartphone fand ich gut, wobei ich meine das es auch erst zu schwammig war und Apple da noch sein eigenes Ding draus gemacht hatte!? Boah auch schon alles so lange her.

Yep, denk ich auch, bei den Handys hat es auch eine Zeit gedauert, bis alles auf usb-c umgestellt war.
I'm not even sure there are chargers here for bikes, barely some for cars, bike you charge at your own house lol

Selbst zuhause finde ich das umständlich. Das E-Bike meiner Frau (Gazelle) hat auch ein anderes Kabel mit Netzteil als mein Haibike und wir haben nur eine Freie Steckdose in der Garage.
Bin gespannt, ob es einmal einen einheitlichen Ladestandard für E-Bikes geben wird, finde bei E-Autos ist es leider auch noch nicht gut gelöst. Wird wohl noch eine Zeit lang dauern.

My bike is recharged with a good Serrano ham sandwich.
Fortunately, in our country, we already have free charging stations for e-cars. One of my considerations in buying a hybrid car someday.
It's just like when we travel on an electric bike or car, we should carry our own charger. If they don't have good chargers, the car battery or motorcycle battery can also get damaged.

I just don't think it is mainstream enough. I don't think things would change until things are more standardized for chargers, and I wonder how many people actually use electric bikes in the EU. Is it large enough for them to consider the infrastructure?
This is a problem, regulation always comes late.
I think it will soon get standardized in the EU, it just takes time.
