Water Therapy: My Personal Journey and Its Benefits
Water is essential to human life, we all know that but many people don’t really understand how powerful it is until they experience what it can do.
Let me take you through my personal story of what water has done for me, how I discovered its power and how it changed my health.
During my second pregnancy, I was carrying twins, that period was one of the toughest in my life. I often felt dizzy and even fainted a few times and when I went to the hospital, the doctor asked me to run a test (PCV) and it turned out that my blood level was very low and I was placed on blood tonic but the dizziness didn’t stop completely.
At some point, I decided to try something different, which is the Water Therapy.
At first, it wasn’t easy because drinking water consistently can be tough, especially when you are not feeling thirsty or when your body is already weak.
Even people placed on water therapy at the hospital sometimes struggle with it but I reminded myself that water is life and I needed to take it seriously.
So, I started small with just two sachets of water a day and I made sure I drank them completely, and as time went on, my body adjusted and without even thinking about it, I began drinking more.
I later switched to bottled water and made it a routine to drink two bottles of water a day.
And gradually, I built up the habit until I could comfortably take up to five liters of water daily.
It wasn’t easy at first but consistency made it possible and with time, my health improved, the dizziness stopped and I didn’t need blood tonic anymore.
To track my progress, I started using bottles to measure how much water I was drinking daily, this helped me stay consistent and know when I was improving because on busy days when I couldn’t drink enough water, I could easily track it and make sure I made up for it later.
Apart from keeping us hydrated, water helps in many other ways.
Here are some ways water impacts our lives:
Physical Health
Hydration: Water helps regulate body temperature, transport nutrients and remove waste from the body.
Digestion: It aids digestion and prevents constipation.
Skin Health: It keeps the skin soft, clear and glowing.
Daily Life
Drinking enough water improves focus and productivity.
It is essential for hygiene like bathing, washing hands and cleaning.
It is used in cooking, food preparation and cleaning utensils.
It helps prevent kidney related diseases like kidney stones.
Economic and Environmental Impact
Agriculture: Water is key for crop growth and food production.
Industry: It is used in manufacturing, mining and energy production.
Ecosystems: Water supports aquatic life and maintains natural balance.
Cultural Significance
Spiritually, water represents renewal, cleansing and purification.
It’s also a source of recreation like swimming, boating and surfing.
It adds beauty and calmness to nature through oceans, lakes and rivers.
Starting a water therapy routine may not be easy, but with consistency, it becomes part of your life.
So I would say begin small with maybe a sachet or a bottle daily and increase gradually.
Track your progress and before you know it, your body will adapt and you will start seeing changes in your health and skin.
Water is life so drink more water and let it work for you.
This is such a good read, I love how you turned something as simple as drinking water into a healing habit and it is amazing how consistency in small things can bring real change.
So drinking water is also a therapy
I learnt alot from this post ma
Thank you for reminding me with this post, water therapy is very great, I used to do it but stopped, with this post I'll try to go back to it
You welcome sis
It’s indeed a powerful therapy. Sometimes, when I feel dizzy or weak, I simply drink water. Even headache at times could just be a sign of dehydration. Many people have overused Paracetamol when all they actually need is a cup of water. In fact, some take the drug with just half a cup of water, whereas what their body truly needs is a full cup or more.
Thank you for sharing ma'am
