Hola, comunidad, desde el 29 de noviembre del 2025 no me había sido posible grabar y publicar. La vida ha dado muchas vueltas por estos lares. Tengo una amiga que dice eso: "la vida da muchas vueltas", pero yo diría que a veces no solo da vueltas, da maromas, hace piruetas y practica la gimnasia rítmica. ¿Alguna vez han visto a las gimnastas rítmicas realizando sus ejercicios con aros unas veces y con cintas otras veces? Bueno
...por ahí va la cosa... solo que nosotros no somos los gimnastas sino los aros y cintas 😁
Esta vez la grabación no la hicimos en casa de nuestra amiga @hermaryrc sino en la placita al lado de la iglesia a la que asistimos.

Hello everyone, I haven't been able to record and post anything since November 29, 2025. Life has taken many turns around here. I have a friend who says, "Life takes many turns," but I would say that sometimes it doesn't just turn, it does somersaults, pirouettes, and rhythmic gymnastics. Have you ever seen rhythmic gymnasts performing their routines with hoops sometimes and with ribbons other times? Well,

That's the idea... except we're not the gymnasts, we're the hoops and ribbons 😁
This time we didn't record at our friend @hermaryrc's house, but in the little square next to the church we attend.

Quise compartir con ustedes una canción que no se si conozcan, es una de esas que en Venezuela llamamos - con cariño, no en forma despectiva - "chatarritas".
Se trata de la canción "El último beso". Esta canción fue compuesta en 1961 por Wayne Crochan.. Pero pasó "sin pena ni gloria". Digamos que no hizo ruido alguno.
Acá se las presento en una interpretación de su compositor en el año 1962:

I wanted to share with you a song that I don't know if you're familiar with. It's one of those songs that in Venezuela we affectionately call—not in a derogatory way—"chatarritas" (little junk songs).

It's the song "El último beso" (The Last Kiss). This song was composed in 1961 by Wayne Crochan. But it went by "without much fanfare." Let's just say it didn't make any noise.
Here it is, performed by its composer in 1962:

La canción fue grabada por J. Frank Wilson & The Cavaliers en 1964.
Posteriormente comenzaron a hacerle versiones en idioma castellano: el grupo mexicano Los Apson, el grupo peruano Los Doltons. En inglés fue interpretada también por "El Rey" Elvis Presley.
Leo Dan también la interpretó en su momento. Acá en Venezuela la versionaron Los 007, con ellos se puso de moda y nunca más ha dejado de sonar. La escuché cuando era una niña y ahora que soy abuela no me sorprende encender la radio y volver a escuchar la trágica del accidente de tránsito que separó a una pareja de enamorados.

El 22 de diciembre de 1961, dos adolescentes iban en un auto. Eran novios y entre ellos había nacido un profundo amor. Eran Jeannet Clark y Jake Hancock, ambos de dieciséis sños. Jake conducía, Jeannette iba a su lado y en el asiento trasera iban dos amigos más. Se durugían a una fiesta. El auto fue impactado por un camión y debido al impacto fallecieron en forma instantánea Jeannette y uno de los amigos del asiento trasero. Los dos sobrevivientes quedaron heridos de gravedad.

Later, versions in Spanish began to appear: the Mexican group Los Apson, the Peruvian group Los Doltons. It was also performed in English by "The King," Elvis Presley.
Leo Dan also performed it at one point. Here in Venezuela, Los 007 covered it, and it became popular with them and has never stopped playing since. I heard it when I was a child, and now that I'm a grandmother, it doesn't surprise me to turn on the radio and hear the tragic story of the car accident that separated a couple in love.

On December 22, 1961, two teenagers were in a car. They were sweethearts, and a deep love had blossomed between them. They were Jeannette Clark and Jake Hancock, both sixteen years old. Jake was driving, Jeannette was in the passenger seat, and two more friends were in the back. They were on their way to a party. The car was struck by a truck, and Jeannette and one of her friends in the back seat died instantly in the impact. The two survivors were seriously injured.

En una cabaña cercana al lugar de los hechos vivía el compositor Wayne Crochan. Cómo nota singular: Wayne tenía a medio hacer una canción sobre un accidente de tránsito pero no lograba encontrar la forma de concluirla. Cuando escuchó acerca del accidente de los jóvenes y que de los dos novios había muerto la chica y había sobrevivido el joven, se le ocurrió integrar esto a lo que estaba haciendo , le modificó la letra para hacer de ella una balada romántica.

A diferencia del accidente real , los chicos van solos y su auto se vuelva por una pendiente con los faros encendidos en la oscura noche.

Tiempo después Wayne se retiró del mundo artístico para desempeñarse como pastor de una iglesia evangélica.

In a cabin near the scene of the accident lived the composer Wayne Crochan. Interestingly, Wayne had a song about a car accident in progress but couldn't find a way to finish it. When he heard about the accident involving the young couple—that the girl had died and the boy had survived—he decided to incorporate this into his work, modifying the lyrics to turn it into a romantic ballad.

Unlike the real accident, the young couple were alone, and their car rolled down a slope with its headlights on in the dark night.

Some time later, Wayne retired from the music industry to become a pastor in an evangelical church.
