Blue Tells Stories: Fragments of Memories on the Edge of the Harbor

That morning, relying on my Vivo smartphone camera, I stood on the edge of Krueng Geukueh Harbor. There was something magical about the reflection of the morning sunlight on the surface of the water that sparkled golden. The fishermen had started their routine, setting up nets and checking boats that were about to sail.

As an amateur photographer who loves photographing seascapes, I always feel that the harbor has its own character. Unlike beaches that are synonymous with vacations, the harbor holds thousands of stories about hard work and hope. Small and large ships that are anchored, who knows how many thousands of nautical miles they have traveled carrying dreams and hopes for the people they love.

There was a funny experience when I enthusiastically tried to take an "artistic" photo from the slippery side of the pier. I slipped, but everything was fine! Since then I have remembered the sailor's proverb: "Respect the sea as you respect yourself" although it does not mean 'don't do acrobatics for the sake of photos' in the proverb.

For me, photographing the sea at the harbor is not just about capturing the scenery. Instead, capturing the momentum of life: the laughter of fishermen chatting before going to sea, the wrinkles of experience on the faces of old captains, to the dance of seagulls that occasionally perch on the ship's mast, and many more of course.

Every time I see the results of the shots at the harbor, there is one thing that always amazes me: how the sea always looks different in each photo, even though it was taken in the same place. Maybe that's what makes photographers never get bored with the sea-the sea always has new surprises to offer.

And here I am now, still faithfully with a camera in hand, waiting for the next perfect moment. Because for photo hunters like us, the harbor will always be an open gallery that never runs out to be explored. As long as there is still the ocean, there will always be stories that can be captured.

And this is what I managed to capture that morning!
