The best assistant mushroom picker.
Yesterday I talked about my encounter with a fungus called Pholiota destruens which is also called the destroyer of trees and can most often be found on cuts of branches or at the places of their fractures in poplars.
This mushroom is not poisonous but it can ruin the taste of other mushrooms if you cook it for dinner along with other mushrooms.
And yesterday I mentioned a related species of fungus Pholiota aurivella which because of the great taste and medicinal properties is called Royal honey agaric and the mushroom that you see in the photo below is very similar to Pholiota aurivella.
But even when I found such a mushroom I did not take it, I had doubts and doubts this is the best assistant of mushroom pickers because an excess of knowledge can lead to self-confidence and their lack can lead to stupidity and both of them can lead the mushroom picker to a hospital bed or worse.
Pay attention here on a cut of a tree, you can see both yellow and white mushrooms this is alarming.
For example this white handsome man this is inedible Pholiota destruens which I prefer to pass by.
And this is how the magnificent Pholiota aurivella look, this is a valuable mushroom the property of which will be appreciated by Michelin kitchen masters.
But in the case when I see even the slightest discrepancy in color and shape and here the difference is only in the color of the mushrooms I prefer to stay hungry than take risks and pick up a mushroom full of mysteries.
