Com Contest #2......Video call saga

Technology has made communication easier across the globe. I can now communicate across seas and oceans from the comfort of my bedroom without breaking a sweat. If it were in the early days, such a thing would be termed as witchcraft.

Before communication became easier, meetings across far distances were tiresome but if you knew those who flew during the day with plantain leaves, they would make your journey faster😁.

Speaking about meetings, there was a time I was on a group call while stuck in traffic. The call just needed we as the members to listen to the executives run through some things. I vividly recall that it was around 8pm and I was coming back from Igando and heading towards Badagry.

The moment I joined the group call, that was when the bus conductor was shouting ”Okoko!, Okoko!, owa owa!”. I wasn't even aware of the fact that my microphone was on and not muted. The bus conductor's voice was busy amusing the other members on the call and they were having a swell time, laughing hmmfor almost two minutes. I was oblivious to what was happening until someone mentioned my name and asked me to mute my mic.

I was embarrased but I quickly muted my mic. The traffic was already making me upset and I wished I could ”beat him up” but I only gave him a bombastic side eye and hissed. ”Mtchewww, see his big head like local football”

One embarrassing video call moment happened recently. I was having a WhatsApp video call with a male friend. I was at home and in casual wear since it was a weekend. I was happy chatting away and laughing at all the sweet jokes my friend was throwing my way, until he said ”Becky, button up. Today is not Sunday”.

Chai.!, You guys needed to have seen my face change from red to pink and then to brown. I was so embarrassed that I wished the ground would swallow me up.

I tried to douse my embarrassment by asking him ”How his eyes got there?” but my guy no shame at all o. He answered me with an ”My eyes were meant to see good things”.

”Oh my gosh, could you please be more discreet?” I thought but this brother was not even embarrassed for me. Before you go ahead to say that he was being kind to me, trust me, I would have liked it if he didn't call my attention to my open chest button and just ended the video call. I was dressed in a loose button shirt with no bra on!

After the call, a lot of things were running through my head like....

Did he see anything?”

”How much did he see?

To what degree did he look and what angle?”

After battling those questions in my head, I resigned myself to the fact that he is a cool and matured guy but in my heart, he deserved a spanking. I was embarrased but only for a little while.
