Here goes the mother of the new bunnies, very protective if her babies. She looks very shy but the babies are even more shy than herself. She has been able to bear just 3babies while we got an extra protective cage to keep the babies. You dare not put your hand into this cage before she will start attacking you.

Two of the babies are very much active while one has had his eyes closed all day and night. I have not caught it eating it been active ever since it was born and probably it has been breastfeeding well from the mothers

After staying close to these rabbits, I have seen how easy it can be to keep and grow rabbits. The mothers gestation period is about a month and right after having her babies she can get pregnant again. With this she can have as many babies as possible within a year making room for expansion and growth.

Feeding the rabbits cannot be a challenge if only you have a garden or can keep a garden. They eat a variety of vegetables from potato leaves to the leaves of jute mallow, water leafs and many other waste materials from our kitchen. There is an equally fair market for selling rabbits. Well I don't eat or see myself eating rabbit meats but it's fun to raise these cute animals.
