Should out-of-space projects be funded knowing full well there is a high chance life might not be able to thrive out there?

Hello, everyone.

I welcome you to my blog. Trust me when I say many people frown at how much is spent to fund any space projects; many people feel the money spent on such projects, knowing fully well that life might not thrive out there, should have been given to the poor to support the countries that need it the most. Lately, outer space exploration seems like the new focus of science enthusiasts. Scrolling through the internet, you keep seeing posts relating to the exploration of other planets and trying to see if there is any other planet where there is life or if life can thrive on the planet.

Sometimes it feels like this scientist have other plans aside from exploration; it feels more like they want to move if a planet that can accommodate them is found. As much as it is fun seeing them do their thing, the amount of money needed to successfully get any exploration done can be quite outrageous.

Many individuals who are science enthusiasts don't mind the amount; as long as it has to do with exploring outer space, they are willing to give anything and everything. There are individuals who feel it should not be so and feel every individual should be like them and the funding for outer space projects should be channeled to something else, something they feel will benefit mankind more. As they feel life cannot thrive out there, they feel we should use every fund we can lay our hands on to make life easier here on earth for everyone, where we are sure that life can thrive.

When it comes to supporting science, we have people who are giving it their all and don't mind going all in, and then we have those who feel otherwise about science and give it little or no support. These types of people also feel money spent on scientific research or projects is a waste and are angry about spending such amounts of money to fund a project and feel that instead of spending such money on scientific research or projects, the money should be used on something they deem fit. There are so many reasons why out of space projects need our support as humans.

For me, I feel out of space projects should be funded and researchers/scientists given the support they need to see it. We are all curious about other planets and what is out there; we all have questions about what is out there, what it looks like and feels like, and the only way our questions are answered is if outer space projects are well funded and given the support they need. In cases where it is not funded or is put to a stop, our questions are left unanswered while curiosity eats us up from the inside, and there is no way to do away with it, which makes giving space exploration all of our support very important.

Every research reveals a little bit of our unknown world. That's the beauty of science. Thank you so much for sharing it with us.

You raised such a great point! Space exploration sounds exciting, but the cost really makes you think if we’re forgetting problems here on Earth.

You’re right
I’m one of the most curious people about what is in other planets and the things that happen there…
