My belief about shooting stars.

Hello, everyone.

I welcome you to my blog. Growing up, Disney introduced us to a lifestyle and left us with so many wishes that even they and our parents combined cannot make happen, trust me. As kids watching Disney cartoons and cartoons from other cartoon companies, it really did make us think that life is a bed of roses; it is where you wish for things and they just happen, and it is where you go to a waterfall to cry because of the ill treatment from people around, and then your fairy godmother appears and makes all your needs available without asking for anything in return.

Disney made life look so easy; if you want to go from being an Ogre to being human, all you need is a fairy godmother to cast a spell or give you a potion, and problem solved, you can go from being an Ogre to a handsome man or beautiful lady. In Disney World everything you wish for, whether big or small, can come to pass; most of the time all you need is a fairy godmother, a wizard, or a witch to just cast a spell or say some magical word like "abracadabra," and all you wish for will be made manifest; no hard work needed, you don't need to undergo any form of stress, and you just get what you want.

Growing up to see that life is not the way Disney painted it to be was quite disheartening; in real life everything you need and wish for, whether big or small, requires a lot of work, so much consistency, and having to show up every day to make sure it happens. No fairy godmothers are coming to make sure all that you wish for is made manifest, and no witch or wizard gives you a potion to make life any easier for you; you just have to survive each day by any means necessary.

Do I believe shooting stars make dreams come true?

No, I do not believe that making a wish under a shooting star actually makes dreams come true; I believe it is just one of those fairytales from Disney making life look so easy. I have never made a wish under a shooting star, and I have never heard someone say that they made a wish under a shooting star and then it came to pass.
