Don't just be a taker; give back in your own little way.

Hello, everyone.

I welcome you to my blog. There are many people out there who are only out to take and receive; they always have their hands wide open to receive but always closed when it comes to giving out. Sometimes I wonder how people do it or feel when you are always the one receiving and not once are you the one giving. Some people feel always being the receiver is best, but I tend to disagree, as I believe in tables turning and roles too. Don't be in a community or in someone's life and be playing only one role (receiver); it is only a matter of time before you are seen as a parasite.

Some people make the mistake of thinking you need to have a lot before you can give back, but that mindset is very wrong. There are also those who don't just like giving that hide under the umbrella of claiming that you actually need to have a lot before you can give. You don't need to have so much before you can actually give; you can have little or nothing and still be seen as a giver. There are other ways in which you can show up and that way be seen as a giver. Some people feel they have to be so rich and have in abundance before they can give back to the community.

Giving back to the community does not completely revolve around monetary gifts or financial support; there are little things you can do to help that can actually be considered as giving back to the community, but many make the mistake of thinking giving back to the community has to be monetary, and for that reason they have failed to give back to the community and have been takers all their lives with zero giving.

One of the little ways you can give back to the community that has nothing to do with finances or does not revolve around finances is volunteering. You can volunteer to assist in a lot of activities that go on in the community, and from there you give back in your own little way. Another way is sharing a skill you know how to do perfectly, either by mentoring for free or at a cheap and affordable rate such that everyone can comfortably afford your mentorship without breaking the bank.

Since I don't always have to donate when needed, I am always available to volunteer when needed, and that is how I give back to the community. You cannot always have the finances to give back when you are needed, but volunteering is one way you can always be available, and I have made it a habit to volunteer to assist either in community cleanups or in activities that concern the progress of the community, and that is exactly how I give back to the community.

Of course, you should give back in your own way. Our religion teaches that you don't need a lot of wealth to give, and that if you give with your right hand, your left hand shouldn't know.

Some have form this habit of only been a receiver without given and it is really heart broken , you can not just be only receiving without giving.

Most at times our minds are corrupt and overwhelmed with the monetized way of giving not knowing that there other things that the society is waiting for like skills etc.

giving back is not just about money. Volunteering, sharing skills, even offering our time and care can make a big difference. A very nice write up

Absolutely agree , life isn't just about receiving , it's about contributing, sharing and uplifting others too When we always focus on what we can get , we risk becoming self centered but when we give whether it's our time , help , kindness or money we create value for ourselves and for others

You have just summarised it all, giving does totally revolve around money and gifts, it can be time and it can anything as long as it is if value to the giver.
