Depression has to go.

Hello, everyone.

I welcome you to my blog. When it comes to wanting a lot of dreaded and incurable diseases to leave the face of the earth, we all have lots and lots of diseases and illnesses that we want erased and wiped out from the face of the earth. Some of us want these dreaded diseases to go because of personal experience, some because of what we have seen them do and how much loss they have caused humanity, and some just want dreaded diseases to go so we can live a disease-free life, one where we know that a pill or two and we are back to getting things done like we used to.

There are some diseases that, once you are diagnosed with them, you already know it is a death sentence, as there is no way you are escaping it. Sometimes doctors try to make the situation look mild or not so bad, where as they know that deep down it is as bad as you, the patient, think. Some diseases are feared since they are incurable (no cure yet), and everyone tries to avoid them, but somehow they still manage to catch up with a few persons; having to deal with an incurable disease can cause one's mental and emotional health to deteriorate real fast, knowing that your health cannot be restored back to the glory days.

Diseases like diabetes, cancer, HIV/AIDS, failure of vital organs, depression and a few others, once you are diagnosed with them, you already know it is hard to come back from them, and if care is not taken, it can only get worse. There are diseases and illnesses where only the diagnosis kills the patient even before the disease does; some patients don't even try to fight it, as they immediately accept their fate and don't try to fight against it.

If given the power, I will try to make sure every incurable disease gets a cure, but since we are sticking to one for the prompt, I think depression has to go. I can say that 7 out of every 10 persons you meet are low-key battling with depression; some make it obvious for people to see, while some try as much as they can to hide it, but the battle goes on, and depression is one thing that eats one from the inside out. It starts small until it has a full grip on the patient.

The rate of suicide is on the increase, and one of the things that fuels suicide is depression; once depressed, it gives room for suicidal thoughts. A cure for depression will be a win for humanity.

I look forward to the day there would be a cure for depression because people are going through a lot and are dying silently.

You're right about there are some diseases that when we are diagnosed with it we already know that it's death. Sometimes I always feel that there must be a solution for such diseases such as Cancer, leukaemia, etc.

Some diseases will just force the patient to give up.
