NEW TAX? : We will Always Be NIGERIANS
This is just funny, I'm caught up between been proud as a Nigerian and at the same time I'm confused about it, should I be ashamed or should I be proud, I really don't understand what this country is about, really, no due process to anything no rule of law, no respect for constitution, anybody who happens to sit there as the president just have an immunity and liberty of doing anything, so he wakes up and just boom implement whatever he feels right without proper dialogue or running an opinion polls on key matters that has to do with the economy.
it sounds funny about all the new tax policy and the very funny narration that are flying around, I have been on social media often this year and the truth is nobody cares, we Nigerians we're tough people whatever it is just bring it on and we really don't care, it will hurt us at first but then omo just move on with your life, cause "if you wan reason m na headache o"
I was speaking with a friend of mine about this tax matter, I said why is it that the president will just come up with policies without due consultation, I mean a few people sit somewhere and decide the fate of the whole nation like ours without the masses been aware of anything, so you just woke up and they tell you "hey bro from now on you will be paying tax on everything except the air you breath" why will our president just go to adopting some foreign policies and tries to sholve it down our throat, without first testing this thing throwing it out on the media let everyone get to know what's coming educate the masses the rural dwellers let people have a heads up about this, I can tell you for free that 75% of Nigerians do not understand the implications of tax laws on individual income and businesses, we don't know they never educate us about it .. wait till the end of 2026 then you will understand how many millions of citizens are guilty of tax aversion.
trust Nigerians na, we meuve regardless, no matter how hard the situation might be, we adapt like it's nothing, if maybe countries are asked to swap eeh, some foreigners will not survive one week under this hard harsh condition we find ourselves, we live life like its nothing because if you want to think about it you will just slump and give up, so better still live your life do what you love and love what you do, what will be will be

I my self have been seriously confused as to what to write when I'm buying something and making transfers, normally what I do is to just write data or ignore it or pos transactions, ...it's funny but this is our new norm, we just have to adjust and adapt, I'm still wandering how some of all those old market women who have zero clues as to what's happening, since there was no enlightenment about this.....

Omo, we just have to move regardless, God will help us in the end because, personally, I don't understand this tax thing, it's relevance and it's implications..
That narration thing is the funny part for me. But the whole tax thing is a serious concern as you've stated. The government does what it feels like without the opinion or interest of the citizens considered. It's reay sad.
