Beyond Bloodlines: Accepting My Vampire Friend

Seeing this new prompt reminded me of something that happened a few months ago when I was having a discussion with @afrikens. I told her that I am a vampire and that I can suck her blood if she is not careful. I guess that terrified her a bit even though it sounded fun, but in reality, I am humble.

And to be honest, we humans can be anything because in my culture, I have heard different stories whereby some creatures will come in human form to the city, most especially marketplaces, and then when it is night, they turn back to their initial form. So, at times, we might not know who is who.

Now, I'm finding out that one of my close friends is a vampire alongside his family members. In situations like this, the best thing I will do is to remain a close friend with him and not to run away from him because we have been close friends for a long time and he has not done any harm to me to date; the probability that he will do any harm to me is zero.

I said that because some of these vampires usually have rules that they follow. From some of the vampire movies that I have seen, they don't just suck blood, especially if that person is closer to them; they prefer to feed on another thing or keep their distance.

I remember one of my favorite vampire series, Vampire Diaries, where their lineage are totally vampires, and even though some of them are very brutal, they still all have their limitations.

And after I have discovered that the person i call my friend and his family are from the vampire dynasty, that is going to remain a secret between us, just like they are humans. It will jusr be like turning a close eyes to it. Nothing more, nothing less. And I will only leave them with their fate as vampires and God to judge.
