THE POWER OF PERSISTENCY

Source

One of the words i don't joke in the course of life's journey is called persistency even though other words like consistency too resonates alot in my heart. For the sake of this write up, I would like to define it based on my view please.

Persistency is the ability to go through situation despite its challenges. Being resolute and confident inspite of any difficulty or challenges ensuring that you get to the end. Some essential words that spices persistency includes deteination, long-suffering or endurance. When you connect these two words it would give you a total package of what PERSISTENCY connotes.

Life doesn't respond to people just by mere folding of your hands. You can't get to your destiny by wishful thinking and imagination or by just costly assumptions of things. It requires being deliberate to take all forms of responsibility. Its not over until is over hmmm that's the exact thought i have concerning persistency. The reason why many have fallen victims of circumstances and other terrible things is because they lack the ability to continue against all odds.

As i normally say in virtually all my write up that there is not a champion without a challenge. Life is desire in such a way that the more you navigate through challenges the better you become more refined to combat every situation. Persistence is a virtue that every successful and history makers crave to have. I would like to share my true life story how i persist during my second degree that took years as if I won't finish the entire program.

I got admitted for the program in the year 2017 march. As a young bachelor then, I said to myself that before 2020 I would have rounded up and picked up my PhD already. To God be the glory I finished the course work within one year however what really kept me was the laboratory work. As you know science is not what you would just rush and submit. When I noticed it was taking time and my target was to marry in 2019. I couldn't hesitate but prayerfully got married in April 2019. Thereafter the COVID-19 wahala started which kept me at home for another year without any engagement on my project work.

Immediately we came out of COVID-19 era strike just set in which consumed another months. With all these things I think they enough to make me quit study. Truth be told i was almost regretting but my wife encouraged me. The subsequent year after the strike i was able to advance my lab work to finished level. The next challenge was interpretation of results. This continued for a long while before I could get someone who put me through. When i was done, i was prepared for second defense. At least i was happy that graduation is here.

To cut the long story a bit short November 2024 i was able to do my exit with the great hope that my external would be in less than two week. It was quite unfortunate i couldn't receive any call from my department then till early this month. In less than two weeks I was asked to prepare for my external Examination. To God be the glory it came to fruition on 16th of may,2025. The journey i started in 2017 ended 2025. Do you know that within these years some of my course mates graduated and came back for their third degree program while I was still struggling with the first degree?

The question is why all these stories? My doggedness and resilience kept me all through the journey. I thought i was forgotten and I can't continue but God really showed up for me. It's a won battle now. I peristed against all odds. Are you passing through any horrible situation? Are you at the verge of giving up? Do you feel forsaken and abandoned? Don't be quick to give up but endure because it would soon be story.

Thanks for reading through this few lines and i hope you find it relevant to inspire you as push in life.

Thanks.

Consistency does pay off in the end but before it does, you will feel like you are going in insane.
