Last Human On Earth

While I glance through the prompt for this week , a lot of thoughts flood through my mind. Being the only human on earth means having all the abundance the earth possesses all to yourself, but then what's the fun of it when you have no one to share it with. When there's scarcity, demand is high, but when there's abundance, the demand is low and that's because humans are wired to appreciate relevance through scarcity but when it overflows, the joy of owning it is lost. The feeling of having sufficient things might be satisfying but the reality of it may be a nightmare.

But then, if I was the last and only human on Earth, I'd go live with the animals, that may be the only satisfying thing to do and learn to live among them, and probably be their king. It may be difficult to live among them the first few months, but time may gradually blend me into their nature and make me adapt over time. People who love animal pets can testify how accommodating and loving it could be to keep one, but in my case, I wouldn't only keep them, I'll learn to live among them, understand their language and rule a large kingdom of herbivores and omnivores.

This may be the only way to survive long as a lone man on Earth. Loneliness may make the Earth a lot boring and lack of companionship may lead to a man's doom. We need each other as humans to survive despite the rivalry and conflicts and in a case where I am alone, the only way I do blend in is to associate myself with something that gives me a role to play and in this case, since animals are not in extinction, I'll make a family with them and makes my stay worthwhile.

Associating with animals doesn't mean I'll be totally satisfied, I'll still feel that gap of real companionship from someone of my kind, but to avoid a suicidal thoughts and the feeling of emptiness, I'll settle with the lower animals, maybe, just maybe, I do learn how fun the animal world is.
