If you want to win trust or lower people’s defenses, few things work better than a moment of genuine honesty or unexpected generosity. This tactic/strategy is everywhere ,business deals ,diplomacy etc , because it employs one of the most powerful psychological trick , our instinct to trust who seem open or kind to us.

Consider the world of international relations. When two countries have been rivals or even enemies, they sometimes offer targeted gestures to build trust. It might be as simple as a trade concession, humanitarian aid, or releasing prisoners. These acts don’t mean the countries are suddenly friends.Rather they are carefully selected moves that can make run for negotiations and reduce tension.A small sign of good faith can break deadlock where force or threats fail.Businesses do this too.A company might offer a customer a generous discount, an extended warranty, or a free service upgrade. At first glance, it looks like they’re giving away profit.Your goal here is to create loyalty and make the customer to feel valued. That customer is now far more likely to stay, buy more, or recommend the company to others. The small cost of generosity pays off many times over.Even in competitive markets, this approach appears. This strategy can also be seen in a competitive markets .A dominant player might support an industry standard or share certain technology for free.

Goodwill , favor are all built by this act,it also makes competitors to appear cooperative by comparison.

The key here is that honesty should be selective and strategic, not an endless act.

It’s about choosing the right moment to show openness or give something away so that the other side lowers their guard, feels obliged, or sees you as trustworthy.People respond positively to signs of honesty and generosity.People always have the need to want to believe in good intentions.By offering them that moment, you gain an advantage they give willingly. If you want to build alliances, reduce resistance, or win loyalty, consider where a well-timed act of honesty or generosity can make the difference.

Just know what they need, when they need it and that way you get them right where you want them.

Thanks for sharing.

It's a give and take world actually, and most times, we get what we give whether our vibe or energy or our attitude. It takes a lot to gain someone's trust or for one to gain another's loyalty, honesty sure plays a big role in both.
