I’m a software developer living in Nigeria, and to be honest, this life no balance. Every day, I wake up early, fight my way through bad network, power cuts, and sometimes unpaid gigs. I sit in front of my laptop, writing code that might never get appreciated. And yet, somehow, I still show up again tomorrow.

Sometimes I ask myself the same questions you just asked, What’s the point of it all? Why am I hustling so hard when I know life can be short, and everything I build today might fade tomorrow? Why push through rejection emails, failed job tests, or even low-paying clients who treat me like I’m not good enough?

I remember one morning in 2022. I had worked overnight on a freelance project. I was hungry, tired, and my generator had just broken down again. The client texted me and said, "You're too slow for this job. I'm canceling." Just like that. No pay, no thank you. I felt useless. I dropped my laptop and cried.

But a few hours later, my younger sister walked in and said, “Bro, are you still going to teach me Mathematics today?” That simple sentence hit me. Somehow, in the middle of all this stress, someone still looked up to me. Someone still believed I had something valuable to give.

That’s when I realized, maybe purpose isn’t always some big, deep mystery. Maybe it’s just about showing up. Making someone else’s path easier. Growing, even if slowly.

So why do I keep going? Why do I still write code, apply for jobs, post tutorials online? Because deep inside, I believe my life matters, even if the world doesn’t always say so. I believe that one line of code, one blog post, one small act of kindness might change a life, even mine.

Yes, we fail. Yes, people die. Yes, we ask questions with no answers. But maybe that’s part of life’s design. We’re not here to figure everything out. We’re here to live. To try. To love.

And that, my friend, is why I still smile every morning. Because the hustle continues, and so do I.
