A delicate balance in my diet
It is said that too much of everything is not good, and that is applicable to food as well because when you take one particular food too much, it could affect your stomach. I don’t know for others, but for me, I can’t eat one particular food too much, and that is why I take caution with my food.
Now talking about salt or sugar in the food, we all know that it is not all food we can add salt to, and of course sugar as well, so regulating both of them is what I do work on since the body needs them both.
But then I can’t deal with excess salt in the food. Did I say excess salt? I don’t like too much salt at all simply because of my taste buds.

Aside from my taste buds, I swear a lot, and I read somewhere some time ago that taking too much salt can cause that, and if the person sweats a lot naturally, then such a person should be careful of salt intake. Well, I really don’t eat that much salt right from when I was little, and still I sweat so much, so naturally I do sweat, and too much salt is not good for me.
Plus, I can’t imagine eating food with excess salt; it tastes awful, and I wouldn’t be able to swallow the food down into my throat because salt is only sweet in the food when it is moderate.
Now let’s talk about sugar. I love eating sugar a lot, but too much of it is unhealthy, and still I love it. There are times I just buy sugar in the house because in a week I can’t do without it.
I remember when I first met my husband; he came to visit me in my sister’s house, and we had cooked beans that day. Meanwhile, I am my sister, and I love putting sugar inside beans whenever we cook; if not, we won’t be able to eat it, especially me.
I served the food, and immediately he took one spoonful of the beans. He looked at me and gave me one horrible smile, but he didn’t want to complain since my sister was there.

The next time I went to his place, he purposely cooked beans for me and made me eat them without sugar. I couldn’t eat much because there was no sugar in the beans, though the beans tasted so good, but still I couldn’t eat much. Meanwhile, his taste buds are different from mine. He eats salt a lot, while I don’t, so I just took some spoons out of the beans so that his junior brother won’t feel offended since they cooked because I was coming to their place.
There was a time as well when too much sugar nearly killed me. I had a pile, and it was unknown to me until I couldn’t walk again. I had to travel back to my mother’s house to get herbs for it, and I spent two weeks before I could get back on my feet. Ever since then, I mind how I take sugar.
But still, I can’t deal with too much salt in the food, but I can’t go a straight week without sugar. Let’s just say I prefer sugary foods to salty food.

Excess salt usually ruins the food and that why I myself don't like it.
Am telling you salty food is a no go area for me but sugary food has always been my favorite 🤩
The first time I saw someone use sugar to prepare beans, I was so shocked. Like how did you even come up with that idea? 😂 I love sugar but definitely not inside my beans, I'm no salt lover either.
