TIPS AND TRICKS TO USING THE RIGHT TAGS FOR YOUR CONTENTS

Tags are like directors, they point readers in the right direction and if we as content creators don't use them well, we might end up missing the right audience to consume our contents. Outside the Fact that our followers get to see our contents most times we publish them, the other way others who aren't following us sees them is through the tags we use on them.

Here on hive, we become so interested in getting huge votes that in the end we don't even get them at all. We get so conscious of the tags we use just so we can get some attention to our blogs (not really for readers to consume) even if we don't necessarily need that attention if not for an expected reward. I know these things because I've been there before and I know how many mistakes I made back then when I started.

The truth is, we all want good rewards on our contents as that's the way we justify ourselves as great writers most of the time. No matter how much effort we put into our contents, once we don't get a matching reward to it, we think that we missed something out or maybe we are not just good content creators.

Some of us got so lucky with our first content on the blockchain and because of that, we start making some curators as part of our tags hoping that they will also come to the next post or Content we create. You might be wondering how I got to know this, well it's simple, I did something similar before and also I still see a lot of users making that same mistakes even today and I just wanted to tell those few who care to read this.

When using tags, what you should be concerned of is what you've written about. Is it a post about your day, something personal, love, sport, finance, minimalist, life, culture? Or others? After careful consideration of what your content is all about, then you should easily get the right tags for your post. Knowing what your topic of discussion is about will help you get the right tags and also help you stay on that topic too.

Also on Hive, you see so many people use the following tags often, appreciator, ocd and ocdb because they think by so doing they might get lucky to get a vote from them. What you do when you use those tags is just reducing your chances of even getting their support. Even if you get their support, it's never because you used the tag, it's because you were lucky to get their curator stop by.

So henceforth, let's make good use of our tags and get our contents to the right audience and I'm very sure with time you'd get lucky to have good support on your contents.

✅ Always make sure that the first 5 tags you use are related to your contents or to the community you are posting to. And if you are not posting to a community, make sure to use the first 5 tags that are related to your post and the rest you can use token based tags like neoxian, proofofbrain, vyb, palnet, ctp, waivio, tribe, hive-engine and so many more.

✅ It's not compulsory to make use of all the 9-10 but it's totally fine as long as you use the right tag. Personally, I do advise you use up to 8-9. If you are lucky, you might get extra rewards of layer two tokens when you use those token tags rightly.

✅ Never lose sight of why you need to use a tag. In fact, you can't make a post on Hive without using at Least one tag to tell you how important it is. So don't over use or underuse it, just use it.
