Time Travel: Past Or Future?

Time travel is one of the most talked about topics. As humans our lives are tied around time. Our past, present and future is all captured in time.

Sadly, this time is not something within human control, we don't have the power to decide how it operates, once it's gone, even if it's a second, we can't bring it back and if it's yet to come, we have no option other than to wait for it.

This mysterious trait of time has laid wishes on the hearts of so many people, myself inclusive. It has made many wish they have the ability to manipulate time, being able to travel to either the past or the future.

The truth is we are imperfect beings, sometimes we miss opportunities, sometimes we make mistakes and we wish to undo them but unfortunately time is created in such a way that once it passes it only becomes memories.

The future is something we all long to step into, we plan, work and hope to have a brighter future but sometimes it doesn't end up that way.

Many wish they have the ability to see that future and what it looks like ahead of time so that they can be able to position themselves better for it but time wouldn't let that wish come through. It conceals the future and reveals it only when we are there. It is annoying but that is how nature wants it to be.

So if time travels were possible and I am to choose whether to travel to the past or the future, I won't take a second thought before choosing the future.

What lies ahead is always far above what lies behind. The past is already lived, but the future is yet to come, meaning I still have hope in it.

There are a lot of mistakes that I have made in the past and to be honest, I wish to undo them but the question here is what difference will it make?

Some of the mistakes I made are even what made me strong, wise and careful today. Imagine I had a flawless past, everything perfect. How will I know what it feels to make mistakes, how will I learn all that I have learned as a result of my mistakes?

There were amazing memories in my past that I wish to see and some to make right but I rather let the past be the way it is.

I will choose the future because I want to know what lies ahead of me, that knowledge will give me an advantage in preparing for what's ahead.

It will spur me to put in more effort and to know how to live depending on what I have seen.

The truth is traveling to either the past or future has its good and bad sides and whether we like it or not, even after doing whatever we want to travel to either the past or the future for, if we do not do the right thing in the present after returning, our effort might still be a waste.
