Expectations gone wrong.

Before I had admission into uni, the life expectancy was high. Like i just could not wait for the freedom I thought it is.
This expectancy came as a result of the information I do get from my neighbours, who started uni before me. This expectancy was not just from my neighbours alone but also few of my friends who were there also.
I didn't just view uni as a freedom sport but a place of enjoyment without an end.
I never thought of the academic part of it.

The one that marvels me, was the part where my neighbours bought new short dresses ready for clubbing in school, saying if you are not part of the club, you will be classified as a low life child.

Although I didn't really feel good clubbing, and in that part I had already made up my mind to be classified as the low life child, cause me and night life are enemies.

They also said so many things like the competitive lifestyle in hostels and lots of that.
The part they got me most was that, they made me see University as a very expensive place, where you have to do lots of things to meet up your standards.
They talked bout he freedom of sleeping out without any disturbance, and I curious to see how this life looked like.

Fast forward to the day, I resumed school, after gaining admission.
We had orientation and all they said there was a reverse.
The freedom I thought was freedom was occupied with bulky books to read, if nothing humbles you, your first semester results will.
I mean enjoyment was replaced with impromptu test and presentation.

Having to dress up each day, for a presentation.
And the expensive outing life was replaced with unplanned school bills, going for an excursion and moving from one place to another looking for your lecture hall.

University life, they say, nothing monitors you, but trust me, your results will. Except you are not concerned with what you want to graduate with. Orr you want to spend the rest of your life doing just one degree.

The clubbing mindset was replaced with so many sleepless night, trying to figure out solution to a particular research problems.

You can have the freedom, just maybe, you don't want to graduate with your colleagues.

Campus life is mostly different from what we see or are told outside of the campus walls. The opposite could be the case. It's when you get there that you will out that.
