Embracing Growth

You know the funny thing about life? We are too used to ourselves. We can clearly say what we can or cannot do. We make statements like “I know myself, I can’t do this”, “I know my body it can’t do that” don’t get me wrong, this is a good thing. Knowing what your body can or cannot do is great but it can limit you.

This “I know myself mentality” makes us quit without trying. We turn down whatever poses to be difficult from the beginning.

Like they say, “We are our worst critic”. We know our strengths and weaknesses so it’s very easy to run away from certain things before we make a fool of ourselves.

Writing off things without trying will ruin our chances of bagging new opportunities. Fear is inevitable but sometimes we just need to face it head on and damn the consequences.

We need to take exposure therapy seriously. When we gradually begin to face our fears, we begin to understand that our fears aren’t worth it at all.

A lot of us are good, so damn good that people wished there were half as good as us and some people can go as far as vouching for our capabilities. But we don’t see ourselves that way, we are so used to ourselves that we doubt ourselves at every given opportunity we get.

The most successful people today aren’t the best of the best but one thing is certain about them, they are audacious. They take daring steps that don’t make sense, and they go out there regardless of how they feel. These people do not have superpowers. They are also afraid of certain things just like everyone else but they don’t allow it to get in the way of them being successful.

It’s okay to be afraid, but very wrong to let your fear get in the way of putting yourself out there and doing great things.

I get scared too and sometimes it’s annoying when I know deep down that if I was fearless I could have done so many mindblowing things. I’m trying so hard not to let my fears get the better of me as they’ve done more than enough and I believe you too can overcome your fear.

We all need to stop magnifying certain things. We make some challenges or issues look too big. When we do this, it discourages us from the beginning. It’s easier said than done right? I know, but you can start somewhere. Exposure therapy helps you see things less scary or dangerous. The more you get exposed to these things the more you understand that they aren’t as difficult or bad as you thought.

You are an amazing human being, filled with so much potential. Please stop hiding, the world needs to know how amazing you are and they can’t if you are always hiding or running away.

Over to you guys: Are you afraid to try new things? How do you handle your fears? I’d love to read your thoughts in the comment section.

Just what I need to read today, and keep in mind every day. It's crazy how our limiting beliefs about ourselves keep us from opportunities and things we can achieve. Thank you for this :)

Very true, and at the end of the day, we are only left with regrets after thinking about everything.

You are most welcome lady🥰

Yes, but the good thing is that it's not too late to believe in ourselves and do better :)

Fear of the unknown is mostly what limit a lot of people, its like a trap that stops people from going far or attempting anything new which limit them to a life of mediocrity....

Very nice post ... cause once in a while we need to remind ourselves of who we are and our abilities

Whenever self-doubt or fear sets in, we need to remind ourselves how amazing we are😃
