It's another time to share something special with everyone in this amazing community of people who understand and manage their homes properly. The initiative by the community where everyone is called to showcase their electronic appliances has been running and if I'm not mistaken, it would be ending on the 8th of this August. This post is still my additional entry for the initiative.

For today's post, I'll be sharing with everyone another amazing star appliance we've got at home which has served us many functions. It's the Double Door Top Mount Fridge. This appliance is a fridge freezer combo. The upper segment is the deep freezer while the lower segment is the fridge compartment. We mostly store/preserve food items and potable water bottles/sachet bags in the fridge segment but for the freezer part, we stored food items for future use because they always turn to ice blocks. We also use the freezer part to make blocks.

This appliance is one of the most useful appliances at home because of its preservation function. Whenever we are out of power supply and the fridge section is getting warm, we move every item there into the freezer segment which is always cold for days even without power supply due to the blocks which had formed.

The freezer fridge combo appliance has made us build a strong bond with our neighbors. How did this happen? We have some neighbors who sell drinks and unfortunately for them, they don't have money to acquire a fridge to make their drinks cold and presentable to consumers. So to assist them, we often stored water in bags and turned them into “bags of blocks(ice blocks)” by putting them in the freezer overnight. By morning time when our neighbors would be set to leave for their drinks selling routine/business, we would supply them with the blocks free.
They are always grateful because others do buy these ice blocks from those who made ice blocks selling their business.

Pero personalmente, en casa, el refrigerador nos ha servido para almacenar y conservar nuestros alimentos. Al hacer la compra, no dudamos en comprar alimentos perecederos como tomates, pescado y demás, porque sabemos que tenemos un electrodoméstico que se encarga de su conservación y almacenamiento hasta que surja la necesidad.

Otra característica sorprendente de este electrodoméstico es su espacio suficiente para guardar todos los alimentos que queramos. Sin embargo, la sección del refrigerador es más grande que la del congelador, ya que el fabricante ya entendió que sería para uso doméstico, no comercial. But personally, at home the fridge has served us several functions in terms of storing and preserving our food items. While shopping, we don't rethink buying perishable food items like tomatoes, fish, and the rest all because we know we have an appliance to take care of their preservation and proper storage till when the need arises.

Another amazing fact about this appliance is that it has enough space to contain as many items as we could store. The fridge section is though bigger than the deep freezer section because the manufacturer already understood that it would be for home use not business. Business mostly requires a deep freezer and less of a fridge.

Just like my Mom always advised me, “everything that has an advantage always has a disadvantage.” Though in this case, it's not really a disadvantage, maybe better to say, “stress.” This appliance serves us great function but when it comes to cleaning the fridge, it's always tedious. The worst moment is whenever an oily food spills before freezing in the fridge. Firstly, the fridge would have a weird smell and secondly, the inner compartment would be stained and would need a “soapy” liquid to clean it off rather than just foam and water.

Pero en definitiva, es mejor ver siempre el lado bueno de las cosas que dejar pasar el estrés por alto. En mi caso, sé lo importante que ha sido este electrodoméstico para la familia, así que no me importa mucho mantenerlo, ya que eso incluso contribuiría a su durabilidad.

But in all, it's better to always look at the good side of anything, then make the stressful aspect a walk over thing. For me, I know how important the appliance has been to the family, so I don't really mind maintaining it since that would even help promote the durability of the appliance.
