Greetings, friends! As I mentioned earlier, this month is special at home because it is full of celebrations, and yesterday I had the opportunity to take a break from my work routine to celebrate a very important day: my husband's birthday. Beyond the date itself, what I really value is the time we spend together, sharing, and, above all, pampering ourselves a little. In this case, pampering him, the guest of honor for the day.
At midnight, my son and I began the celebration in the sweetest way possible, as is our tradition. We approached my husband with a little surprise, a chocolate candy, his favorite, while singing the traditional happy birthday song. It was a simple but meaningful moment, a demonstration of our love. He, with a smile full of happiness, enjoyed his little candy and hugged us affectionately.

Como les he contado anteriormente, este mes es especial en casa porque está lleno de celebraciones, y ayer tuve la oportunidad de hacer una pausa en mi rutina de trabajo para celebrar un día muy importante; el cumpleaños de mi esposo. Más allá de la fecha en sí, lo que realmente valoro es el momento de estar juntos, compartir, y, sobre todo, consentirnos un poco. En este caso, mimarlo a él, el homenajeado del día.
Desde las doce de la madrugada, mi hijo y yo comenzamos la celebración de la manera más dulce posible, como es nuestra tradición. Nos acercamos a mi esposo con una pequeña sorpresa, un dulce de chocolate, su favorito, mientras le cantábamos el tradicional cumpleaños feliz. Fue un momento sencillo pero significativo, una demostración de nuestro amor. Él, con una sonrisa llena de felicidad, disfrutó su pequeño dulce y nos abrazó con cariño.
After our son went to bed, my husband and I stayed up talking in the quiet of the night. He confessed to me the one thing he really wanted for his birthday: to spend the day at home, devoting his time to a personal project he had been wanting to complete for months. His desire was to focus on sanding and painting his car, a job he had started some time ago but, due to his daily responsibilities, had not been able to make as much progress as he would have liked. Hearing him speak with such enthusiasm made me realize how much this wish meant to him, so I decided to support him in every way possible.
The next morning, we woke up full of energy and prepared a nutritious breakfast to start the day off right. As soon as we finished eating, my husband wasted no time and got to work. Excitedly, he began sanding the car, determined to make great progress on his project. His enthusiasm was so contagious that, without thinking twice, I decided to join him for a while, picking up some sandpaper and helping him with the task. It was fun to share that moment with him, to feel part of his process, and to understand how important it was for him to achieve this goal.

Me confesó lo único que realmente deseaba para su cumpleaños; pasar el día en casa, dedicando su tiempo a un proyecto personal que llevaba meses queriendo completar. Su anhelo era enfocarse en lijar y pintar su carro, un trabajo que había iniciado hacía tiempo pero que, por las responsabilidades del día a día, no había podido avanzar tanto como le gustaría. Escucharlo hablar con tanto entusiasmo me hizo comprender cuánto significaba para él este deseo, así que decidí apoyarlo en todo lo posible.
A la mañana siguiente, nos levantamos con energía y preparamos un desayuno nutritivo para arrancar el día con fuerzas. Apenas terminamos de comer, mi esposo no perdió tiempo y se puso manos a la obra. Con emoción, comenzó a lijar el carro, determinado a hacer grandes avances en su proyecto. Su entusiasmo era tan contagioso que, sin pensarlo mucho, decidí unirme por un rato, tomando una lija y ayudándolo en la tarea. Fue divertido compartir ese momento con él, sentirme parte de su proceso y entender lo importante que era para él cumplir con este objetivo.
After a few hours of work, I decided to leave him focused on his project and head to the kitchen with another purpose in mind: to prepare some delicious chocolate treats for him. If there's one thing I know for sure, it's that my husband has a sweet tooth, and chocolate holds a very special place in his heart. With much love, I set out to prepare several portions to surprise him and sweeten his day even more.
Después de algunas horas de trabajo, decidí dejarlo concentrado en su proyecto y dirigirme a la cocina con otro propósito en mente; prepararle unos deliciosos dulces de chocolate. Si hay algo que sé con certeza, es que mi esposo es un amante de los dulces, y el chocolate ocupa un lugar muy especial en su corazón. Con mucho cariño, me dispuse a preparar varias porciones para sorprenderlo y endulzar aún más su día.
Once the sweets were ready, he showered and we gathered for lunch, and just as we were about to sing “Happy Birthday” again, my father arrived to join the celebration.

His presence was a pleasant surprise and added even more joy to the occasion. Together, we shared an afternoon full of laughter, stories, and jokes, enjoying every moment of the family gathering.
The real magic of the day was not in the party or the gifts, but in the simplicity of the moments we shared. Seeing my husband happy, feeling fulfilled with what he really wanted to do, and knowing that each of us contributed to making his day special filled me with satisfaction. It was a different kind of birthday, without a big gathering, but with the most valuable things of all: love, companionship, and kind gestures that make life special.
Su presencia fue una grata sorpresa y añadió aún más alegría a la ocasión. Juntos, compartimos una tarde llena de risas, cuentos y chistes, disfrutando cada instante de la reunión familiar.
La verdadera magia del día no estuvo en la fiesta ni en los regalos, sino en la sencillez de los momentos compartidos. Ver a mi esposo feliz, sintiéndose pleno con lo que realmente quería hacer, y saber que cada uno de nosotros contribuyó a que su día fuera especial, me llenó de satisfacción. Fue un cumpleaños distinto, sin una gran reunión, pero con lo más valioso de todo, amor, compañía y lindos gestos que hacen la vida especial.
