🦉 The common gull or sea mew (Larus canus)
- Larus (lat.) seagull; sea bird
- canus (lat.) gray

This seagull is hardly remarkable, grey-white plumage, no bright details. But its omnipresence compensates for its nondescriptness. It is often found on rivers and even in city parks, where it looks for food in garbage cans or snatches bread from ducks. However, in my city these birds live exclusively near the river flowing along the city and beyond.

Hunts simply, patrols the shore, looking for fish or insects, then dives sharply and grabs the young. Sometimes steals prey from other birds, for example, from terns, which live side by side with them
