White-Faced Whistling Ducks at the Calgary Zoo

White-Faced Whistling Ducks are known to have quite a large range. From wetlands in Africa and even Madagascar to rivers and lakes in South America. They are omnivorous, feeding on grasses, seeds, and aquatic invertebrates. Whistling ducks are known for their high-pitched call, which is like a whistling sound, hence their name. These once seemed to be fairly playful with other, and I observed one spinning in circles in the water for several minutes.
