Taveta Golden Weavers

This vibrant orange and yellow bird is called a Taveta Golden Weaver. This one is at the Calgary Zoo and originates from southeastern Kenya and northeastern Tanzania. They are named for a town in Kenya where they are usually found as well as their weaving skills.It is known as a very talented nest builder, mainly due to its weaving skills. Their nests are usually found over water and can contain many chambers. Their diet is mainly seeds, and they use their thick beaks to crack open seeds.
