Turtledove in My Yard: The Story of the Bird and Her Chick [ Eng/Esp]
In the yard of my house I have many fruit trees that give me shade, being there they make the house cool. It is also very common for birds to come daily and be among the trees.
Today I want to share with you about a particular bird I've seen since I was a child and that I know as a turtledove. It makes a distinctive sound when it flies, reminiscent of the maraquita, a musical instrument that makes a sound when played.
It is a not very big bird, its plumage has several colors, gray, white, black and brown. I have noticed that it is a very common bird in my country Venezuela, in my home it feeds on food scraps that are scattered, it has made nests in trees.

This time it made a nest in a trunk that it used as a support to hold up my roof. My mother also reinforced that nest with other materials that can be observed.
Here you see the turtledove with a chick, when the chick is strong and able to fly, they leave, leaving the nest alone again waiting for another bird to lay its eggs.

En el patio de mi casa tengo muchos árboles frutales que me dan sombra, el estar ellos ahí hacen que la casa sea fresca. También es muy frecuente que vengan a diario pájaros y estén entre los árboles.
Hoy les quiero compartir sobre una ave en particular que la he visto desde pequeña y que la conozco como tórtola. Hace un sonido particular cuando vuela, alusivo a la maraquita que es un instrumento musical que emite sonido al sonarlo.
Es un pájaro no muy grande, su plumaje tiene varios colores, se encuentra el gris, blanco, negro y marrón. He notado que es un ave muy común en mi país Venezuela, en mi hogar se alimenta de restos de comida que se esparcen, ha hecho nidos en los árboles.

Esta vez hizo el nido en un tronco que lo usó como soporte para sostener mi techo. También ese nido, mi mamá, se lo reforzó con otros materiales que se pueden observar.
Aquí se ve la tórtola con un pichón, cuando el pichón está fuerte y con capacidad de volar, se van, quedando nuevamente el nido solo a la espera de otra ave para que coloque sus huevos.

Hello @mariiale1979, there are also turtledoves here. I saw one this morning. However, they are less colorful and more gray. Interestingly, some pigeons recently nested on the terrace of my apartment.
