Fuchsias and Mealworms ~ A perfect stake in the Den

Hello Hello everyone.

It's Sunday today and the weather has been pretty changeable to say the least.

This morning I had a wee wander outside, but this afternoon has been Cinderfella doing the housework and playing the odd game!

Fuchsias & mushrooms.png

Now though is the time to write a long form post on our beloved post.

Actually I have been writing one whilst playing a new game which you will read about tomorrow. @thebighigg thank you for this new addiction you have given me!

What's in a name ...

I love these flowers...

image.png

Do you know what they're called?

image.png

They are Fuchsias.

They are famous for their "teardrop" or "lantern" shaped flowers.

I think that is one of the reasons I love them, they are a bit different from the norm!

I am not really a fan of the normal or the same old same same. So they don't look like normal flowers.

Many varieties are bicolored, creating a striking effect.

This is a post on a Sunday so I guess this next shot is an appropriate one...

image.png

Food package arrived ...

image.png

I ordered this tasty treat and it has arrived today!

Someone will be happy....

Can you guess what they are?

The answer is mealworms and it's a treat for the birds at the park.

image.png

It was a 5 litre bag which is the same size as the tubs of swan and duck food.

image.png

Meaning that it fits perfectly in one of the empty tubs and is now...

My new coffee mat holder is in place!

image.png

Well it shall stay there until tomorrow. I have got a busy afternoon tomorrow so will be popping up to the park first thing to sprinkle some of these treats around.

image.png

Back to my other post!

This tweet says it all....

image.png

Safe to say I did sink some Hive into Stake House Den!

But more of that tomorrow.

I chose Sunday, as I thought there would be more to do in town on a Saturday rather than the Sunday!

This post is also for #SublimeSunday is inspired by @c0ff33a and #BeautifulSunday is initiated by @ace108.

So much for summer. Wet windy and cold is the order of the day!!!

Thanks for visiting and enjoy the rest of your day!

Nice bird food! The birds will love that stuff! Those are some beautiful flowers, one of the best things about spring and summer is the array of flowers everywhere. I've been sinking more into Stake House Den than I intended, but I figure if I'm going swimming I may as well get wet. I'll need to stake some more script soon, get a few more pack, and then probably further expand the fridge for more hot sauce. That was a nice gold joker you pulled by the way!

I've never noticed those available to feed the birds. Lately all the duck parks around here forbid the feeding of any animals. Good old California restrictions and laws about everything...

Yeah we met a couple a while ago who brought the birds mealworms and ever since Mrs T has been wanting me to get some. Especially when she saw the little ducklings, so I relented. I am usually the one who feeds them, so more stuff for me to remember to pack and take lol!

The gold joker was awesome! I saw one for sale at $349 lol I would settle for half that price!

Crazy restrictions, the only restrictions we have is to quite rightly not feed the seagulls. They are protected but are vicious wee (well not so wee) fluffers!

It was a quick post! I'm sure tomorrow you will be the birds' favorite. A good title for a story about a man who feeds the birds every afternoon. I love fuchsia. A hug of that color.

A quick post hehe, you know me! Well I shall see what happens, would be cool taking you to the park too Nancy. Fuchsias are quite popular and a couple of gardens I walk past on the way to the park have fuchsias, let's see if I can take you some pics. A colourful fuchsia hug for you Nancy :)

Very beautiful flowers, what colors. Worms a feast for birds, they will thank you. Take advantage and bring us in photos the moment you are feeding them.
It will be a real show.
Nice week for you @tengolotodo a hug. 🤗🥰

Are the flowers called that because they also are the colour? 😂😂

Those birds might start developing crush on you Eddie. I won’t be surprised one pregnant one follows you home and claims you’re the dad!

The flowers really do stand out with their teardrop shapes and bicolored charm. And mealworms as a treat for the park birds? That’s a thoughtful treat!🤗

Such a pretty flower. I don't know if it grows everywhere. The birds won't give you an evil eye anymore if you give them that treat.😛😌

Nice combination of red and violet in that flowers.
Just curious about those mealworms.
Are they live worms and sent to you live? If so, must need some special handling in the logistics.
