Sandbag House Reno Project: One table cloth, two cushion covers

It's been a while since I hauled out my trusty old sewing machine.

My trusty old sewing machine

Yes, she's old. Only 21 years younger than I. There was a time when I made nearly all my clothes... dresses, skirts, jackets - with shoulder pads, of course. It was the 80's after all...

Our flower girl when The Husband and I married

I made my flower girl's dress when The Husband and I got married, but not much since. I need to remedy that.

One old table cloth, two cushions

Perhaps Sunday was a start: one old table cloth became two cushions covers. And there's fabric left.

Two cushion(s) covers.

These cushions are destined for the bed in the new guest bedroom.

The cushions in their new home

The headboard is still a work in progress but the cushions are not🤭

Am I getting my groove back? I don't know. But stuff must get done for The Corner. And if I can, I must. That said, I am not unhappy with Sunday's efforts and, perhaps just to get some basic practice, I should make covers for all the cushions for my garden chairs....

Notwithstanding being a little rusty, this was a big baby step.

Until next time

Good on you for getting that sewing machine out and creating your own projects for the house. I just got done making cushions for my porch. That will be posted soon. Love the pattern on the fabric you chose. ;-)

Yes, now I am starting on my porch cushions, too. While I have the urge. Also with another old table cloth.

I was very happy with how the first ones turned out. I have always liked that fabric, so am pleased to have found another use for it.

Look forward to seeing yours.

I love knowing that you also enjoy sewing. That dress with the flowers gave me some ideas.
I would love to see the new cushions you want to make for your garden chairs; there's nothing better than starting the year by making changes to our home. 😀

I am nearly a year into this project so I hope that the beginning of the year and these new things are also a sign that it's getting done Then I can really settle and begin living. Properly!

A post with the other cushions will happen either today or tomorrow. Let's see what else RL throws at me!
