Orchid Update! Journal Entry 75: On The Brink Of Bloom!
Easter Sunday Reflections With Vanda Pachara Delight
Good morning, friends.. And what a beautiful Easter morning it is. The kind of morning where you can't help but pause, breathe a little deeper, and soak it all in. Easter Sunday has arrived and we are all grateful and hopeful for better days ahead.
My wife is still sleeping peacefully, and Mr. Huxley, our ever curious and delightfully mischievous pup, is enjoying his post breakfast nap after an early morning play session with a few new toys his mommy brought home yesterday.
It reached over 80°F here yesterday (yes, in April!), and we made the most of it by spending a long, relaxed afternoon on the patio. Sunshine, laughter, and the sound of spring waking up all around us.
But today's journal entry isn’t about weather or toys (as fun as they are).. it’s about a little miracle in progress right inside.
Vanda Pachara Delight: So Close To Blooming!
In the last journal entry .. I shared the exciting news that our beloved Vanda Orchid, Pachara Delight, had started pushing out a bloom stem.. a rare treat after months of patience and care.
Well, I’m happy to report... we’re on the brink of bloom!
The buds have been developing steadily .. And while I had secretly hoped they might open just in time for Easter morning, they’re holding out for a grand reveal sometime in the next couple of days. The color transformation has been fascinating to watch: what began as small, light purplish green buds have deepened into richer hues of purple and blue. You can almost feel the energy building in those petals.. like they’re just waiting for the perfect moment.
The anticipation is half the joy, isn’t it?
These blooms are going to be stunning .. I just know it. I can already picture how they’ll catch the sunlight in the morning and bring a vibrant splash of blue-purple color to the space. A little Easter resurrection of their own, just in time for spring.
🐾 And Of Course… Mr. Huxley
No update would be complete without a quick Huxley report.. Even with new toys stealing most of his attention (he’s particularly fond of the squeaky, crinkly octopus), he still made time to check in with what Daddy was doing.
Curious little nose sniffing at the Vanda watering bucket, tail giving the occasional wag of approval.
I like to imagine he’s waiting just as eagerly for those flowers to open. More likely, he’s just waiting for dinner. 😂
Wishing you all a peaceful and hope filled Easter Sunday.
Whether you’re surrounded by flowers, family, or simply a few quiet moments to yourself, may the day bring you a little beauty and renewal.
Until next time..
Remember to stretch..

Vanda Pachara Delight looks fantastic! 🌸 Good luck with the bloom! 🐎
Thank you so much! It did finally open fully so I'm very excited.
These purple colored flowers look really nice.
Thank you! We love them as well
Good morning, dear friend @bdmillergallery
It's incredible how quickly the days go by. Without realizing it, we've reached Easter Sunday.
Your orchid plants look beautiful. I appreciate you sharing this update.
Apparently, Mr. Huxley got tired of looking at the orchids and is taking a well-deserved break.
Happy Easter to the whole family.
Thank you for the Easter wishes!
Yes Huxley got tired of checking them out and eventually took a nap.
The blooms finally did open I'll have to write another post soon about that. Stay tuned!
We appreciate your work and your publication has been hand selected by the geography curation team on behalf of the Amazing Nature AN Community. Keep up the good work!
🥰 awww thank you. That's awesome. I appreciate the support!
Vanda Pachara looks so beautiful, and i adore your puppy too. Goodluck in your entry.
Thank you. He sure is a cutie. I guess we'll keep him. Lol
Patience with plants, then anticipation of blooming appears Huxley approves then takes time off to laze about dreaming what to do next.
Happy Easter Sunday to You and Yours.
Happy Easter to you as well!
If Huxley's not napping he's playing. That's pretty much his speed.
Those blooms did finally open up I'll have to write another post as soon as I'm feeling better.
Well hope you feel well soon, look forward to seeing the blooms. Huxley looks an adorable young lad.
I guess Huxley is attached to the plant
And I’m glad to know its name for the first time
Yes Vanda's are quite popular, some people plant them in soil/bark others keep them bare root like I do. Either way the flowers are beautiful. Lots of work but beautiful.
Happy Easter Sunday @bdmillergallery, nature knew as always how to give you a joy to reward your dedication to your beautiful orchids. Enjoy that blooming process that becomes magical. Congratulations.🤗😘
Thank you! It was nice to see them open up on such a wonderful day.

The cold weather is coming back, get ready! We haven't gotten over 60 the past two days I don't think. I don't really mind it too much though! The plants are looking good! We are managing to keep the aloe plant alive too!
That's awesome! Glad to hear that aloe plant didn't find its way into the wrong hands. Lol. It's been in the 80s here lately. Been nice. Sitting outside a little bit taking it easy. I had to have some minor surgery on Monday so it's been nice to be off during the nice weather trying to heal.
We got chilly again, but the sun has been out. I'm glad the surgery went well.
Yeah still some pain but manageable. Thanks!
We had one or two chilly days, if you call 50's and 60's chilly. LOL
You know, it is a bit chilly at those temps, but you will still see people out in shorts here as soon as it hits the high 50's!
Not me. I would like to move far south if not into the Caribbean at some point in the near future.. Just waiting on Bitcoin to explode. LOL
Maybe next week...
maybe.. maybe.

Cool! They opened on Easter for you! Love Huxley and his toys! We had 80's here on Saturday too.
Yeah that weather really felt good after a lot of cold. We need the rain down here in Southern New Jersey though. Forest fire is popping up so that's not good.
You worked hard with your friend You have planted very beautiful plants which have grown very well. And let Bhabhi Ji sleep, let her rest, after seeing it she will also like what you have done
Thank you for the compliments! We're definitely enjoying all our hard work.
Oh wow, I’m so happy to see they’re blooming now! All your care has truly paid off. Can’t wait to see the full beauty of those flowers!😍
Hi cutie Hux 😀
Huxley says hello. He just had some surgery to repair a hernia and he had gotten neutered at the same time so he's not doing too happy right now.
It was nice for those blooms to open. They are really beautiful. I will have to share a new post with them in it soon.
Thanks for stopping by!
Oh no, Huxley! Hoping he heals up quickly. Sending him lots of love and gentle pats 🩷
Can’t wait to see them in your next post! 🌺
He's doing well today. Bought him a little recovery suit. It has been working out well.. better than a cone.
I will post soon I hope. Time Time Time.
The anticipation of the bloom really does make the whole process so much more exciting. I feel like I’m waiting for the flowers to open with you!
It's the icing on the cake .. or so they say! 😁
