Oh Hazel .. You Thief

Hazel NO! Leave Huxley Alone..

Hazel NO! Give That Back To Huxley..

Haaaazel.. Don't!

Hazel Grace is constantly on the move. And getting into some form of mischief. From the moment she wakes up she is running, jumping, and pestering Huxley to play. He gives in most of the time, because honestly, if someone was biting and hanging off your ear nonstop, you probably would too.

If she is not racing through the house .. Or launching herself into the air trying to get someone’s attention, she has a toy in her mouth. More often than not it is a toy she stole directly out of Huxley’s mouth. She absolutely loves taking whatever it is he happens to have at that moment. It is frustrating for us to watch, but Hux has to learn how to protect what is his. Most of the time he just gives it up without much of a fight. What a nice big brother. Lol.

Here are a few photos of Hazel and her stolen treasures.

A cat toy that zips around the room.. One of her fav's currently

Pop-Pop's Sock as we call it. One of my dads socks that he nicely gave up after lots of interest was found in it by Hux

A Paper roll because who says toys have boundaries?
IMG_0874.jpeg

Sticks and branches.. why not? The man made stuff is just boring sometimes.
IMG_0878.jpeg

Chomps Abunch was the favorite a while back but lost some interest. It makes an appearence now and again as long as daddy or mommy make it move and crackle

Awww this beaver used to be one of Molly's favorites. Sad and cute at the same time.

And a snow ball (Although the size of a grape). It is winter after all.

I Know What Will Work!!

We thought we finally had her figured out. We introduced a large ball, one that she surely would not be able to steal from Huxley very easily. Problem solved, right. Well, that did not work at all.

IMG_0863.jpeg

In comes Hazel, leaping through the doorway like a tiny missile, grabbing the ball, and immediately hiding under a chair.

IMG_0869.jpeg

Of course she can fit under every piece of furniture we own, safely out of Huxley’s reach. Huxley does not appreciate this strategy. He growls, scratches at the chair, and tries everything he can to coax her out.

IMG_0867.jpeg

No such luck.

It is just another game she plays ..

With his last nerves and mine. She is so bad. And somehow, also the best thing we ever had. That actually sounds like it could be a good line for a song. Hehehe.

Well I must have missed a post or two! You have two dogs again?! That is going to be so much fun for the rest of us.

She is so bad. And somehow, also the best thing we ever had.

I can see this. She sounds dreamy. Your family of four is going to be teeming with joy.

My pooch is named Hazel too.

Looks like they are falling into a routine and learning the dynamic. It will likely change at some point. We always felt a little bad that we didn't have a friend for Jovi, but I honestly don't think I could have handled two dogs! Who knows, it might have made her a little less anxious.

Don't feel bad.. Two is NOT all that it is cracked up to be. If it were up to my wife we would be overflowing with Shih Tzu's and I would be out of bed space. Lucky we only have so much money. hehehehe

She's a cute little devil, isn't she?? Poor Huxley! One day she won't be so much a puppy any more and maybe Huxley will have peace...

She is absolutely the most active, spunky and hip-hoppy pup we have ever had. I like her spun, but Huxley is still a puppy and having a rough time keeping pace. Hopefully she calms down a little but doesn't loose her signature spunk and sass.

So much cuteness in one post. I wish Nadi liked to play but she has always been a solo doggy and now she will sometimes tolerate the presence of another dog but NEVER to play. She is not violent, but she will just bark to let them know she is not interested in playing at all.

image.png

When Nadi was just 1 year old she briefly had a shih-tzu roommate because we were dog-sitting. Both of them had an attitude of "you stay over there, I stay over here" No playing, ever. Would you say that your dogs mostly are that way as well or do they enjoy having a tumble often?

Oh yes, I totally remember you telling me how Nadi is a solo kind of pup. So many stories about that. We had a Lhasa Apso many years ago and she was just like your dog. An island. Lol. I don't think she even liked me much. I guess not being violent is better than having a dog that wants to bite another dog's head off constantly. Makes walking a little more enjoyable, maybe not the barking part but not having to worry about her attacking everything that moves.

That's a cute picture that you posted. I have to say that one Shih Tzu looks very long. I don't know if it's the photograph or that Dog was just extremely long in the neck and body. Our dogs are more like yours.

Oh my gosh yeah these two dogs of ours play constantly. They're either lying together, playing together, eating together, everything together. It's actually quite nice. They keep themselves occupied and if I'm not playing with them they are playing with each other. That doesn't sound right but you know what I mean. Lol.
