Good day, friends of Hive, and welcome to my blog. I remain my humble self, @oluthomas. For Week 277 of the Hive Open Mic weekly prompt, we have been given a topic to sing on: “Summer Love.” I sang a cover of “Excess Love,” originally performed by Mercy Chinwo. Mercy is a gospel artist from Nigeria. She has released many songs and has been a blessing to the body of Christ. She once had a bad record and was known to live a worldly life sold out to the devil and living without meaning until she met a man that everyone needs to meet. That man is Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God. Since then, her life has never been the same. Everyone tarries where he or she finds love. Without love, Hive would not be running as it is now. There is love between the users, and it keeps growing from one level to another and that can only be achieved through love. I sang this song because of the love Jesus has for us not because of our works or because we’ve done something special, but simply because of love. So, we are expected to love Him in return, because that’s the best way to pay Him back. So I’m calling on all of us to fall in love with Him, and every other thing will be taken care of by God.
