¡Hive open mic, Semana No. 114, saludos y bendiciones a toda nuestra comunidad, gracias por la oportunidad que me brindan una vez más y aprovecho para presentarles el canto de Sirena que se realiza en los Estados Aragua, Carabobo y Yaracuy con motivo de celebrarse el día de ayer 24 de Junio la Fiesta en honor a San Juan Bautista. Mi usuario @geronimamunoz.
El Canto de Sirena, es un género netamente devocional que se interpreta durante la Velada y/o Velorio a San Juan Bautista. Generalmente, se realiza en los Estados Aragua, Carabobo y Yaracuy, en ocasiones lo escuchamos en Caracas un poco por la cercanía e influencia de gente del pueblo que hacen vida aquí en la ciudad. Por ejemplo, en la Parroquia San Juan, existen varias agrupaciones que hacen el trabajo de proyección y preservación de esta manifestación tradicional como es la Fiesta de San Juan.
Desde hace aproximadamente veinte años, pertenezco a la Agrupación Folclórica Experimental “Tambor y Gloria”, dirigida por los Maestros José Luis Pacheco en la Dirección General e Iván Lira en la Dirección Musical, ambos cultores oriundos de Cata, Estado Aragua.
Sus familiares llegaron por primera vez a Caracas, fundaron el Sector El Guarataro y con ellos trajeron sus aportes, música, cantos, religiosidad, gastronomía, hospitalidad, sencillez y muchos otros valores socio culturales que le dan forma y color a las manifestaciones tradicionales desde el pueblo a la ciudad, acompañados de sus tambores como parte de nuestro gentilicio, años tras años celebran la Fiesta de San Juan como se hace en Cata, Estado Aragua, al mismo tiempo, dan a conocer géneros como los Cantos de Sirena, Sangueo y Golpe, realizados de generación en generación con el objetivo principal de prevalecer en el tiempo.

The Canto de Sirena, is a purely devotional genre that is performed during the Velada and / or Velorio to San Juan Bautista. Generally, it is performed in the States of Aragua, Carabobo and Yaracuy, sometimes we hear it in Caracas due to the proximity and influence of the people who live here in the city.
