Greetings to everyone in the Hive Open Mic community! Today I'm joining you to participate in the community's weekly contest #270, with the theme "Holy Spirit." So, I was looking for some songs I knew that might be a good fit, so I chose this George Harrison song titled "My Sweet Lord." I know the song may be a bit closer to the Hindu god Krishna, since for the singer, the call was to "free oneself" from sectarianism. It's a song of praise dedicated to that spiritual awakening and acceptance of God above all else. I feel that, in one way or another, it also involves the whole concept of God and the Holy Spirit. Recognizing the Holy Spirit as that which draws one closer to Him (God), this song being a way of bringing Him present in our lives.
This is one of my favorite George Harrison songs, along with "I Got My Mind Send On You" and "All Those Years Something." The song is from the 1970 album "All Things Must Pass" and was a huge hit in England and other countries around the world. My interpretation is also personal, trying to stay close to what Harrison was trying to convey. I'm not a believer, but I believe in the power of devotion. ¡Saludos a todos en la comunidad de Hive Open Mic! El día de hoy me uno por aquí para participar en el concurso semanal #270 de la comunidad, con la temática de esta oportunidad, "Espíritu Santo". Gracias a ello, estuve buscando algunas canciones que conocía y que pudieran encajar bien, así que elegí esta canción de George Harrison que se titula "My Sweet Lord". Sé que quizás la canción se acerca un poco más al Dios hindú, Krishna, pues para el cantante el llamado estaba en "liberarse" de los sectarismos, siendo un canto de alabanza que va dedicado hacia ese despertar espiritual y aceptación de Dios por sobre cualquier cosa. Siento que de una forma u otra, también implica todo el concepto de Dios y el Espíritu Santo. Reconociendo al espíritu santo cómo aquello que acerca a uno hacia él (Dios), siendo ese canto, una forma de traerlo presente en nuestras vidas.
Esta es una de mis canciones favoritas de George Harrison, siendo también "I Got My Mind Send On You" y "All Those Years Algo". La canción pertenece al album "All Things Must Pass" de 1970 y fue un completo éxito en Inglaterra y otros países del mundo. Mi interpretación es también personal, intentando apegarme un poco a lo que Harrison intentaba trasmitir. No soy creyente, pero creo en el poder de la devoción.
