Results of Poll #1. The Rally Car : Keep Funding or Wind It Down
Last week I published a poll to give the Hive Community a decentralised voice to whether we should carry on funding certain projects or not. First of all I would like to declare that this is not a Valueplan post. This is my own post asking the Community what they are in favour of and not in favour of funding with the Hive marketing budget. Many Hive users might vote for Valueplan in the DHF but do not agree with some of their funding projects so I decided to publish polls for the top 10 projects to gauge whether the Community is in favour or not. . This was a poll to gauge whether the community think the rally car is a viable project to keep funding or whether it should be winded down . I ran the poll for 7 days.
As @buttcoins pointed out last week that "the biggest poll vote is ambivalence" which is very true. We got 41 votes in total which is probably disappointing for such a vote but I'm only a small fish in a big pond. Also there may be some biase as the people I know and connect with are dead against the funding of the rally car.
One thing that did surprise me is that the people that voted aren't exactly tin foil helmet people. They are Hive abiding low KE ratio , very established accounts in the Hive Community, many with high HP so it is a poll that has established that not all the Hives whales or middle class are agreeing to the number 1 project on Hive which is interesting to me.

Even though we only got 41 votes and 39 voted to wind down the project, these 39 votes still accounts for 3.5 million Hive votes which is hive considering the small sample size of the poll. I would love if someone more prominent in the Hive Community that get 100 comments whenever they post, if only they were to do a poll. We might get a much larger sample size and more debate around the positive effects. The rally car driver may even vote to keep funding himself. 😄. But anyway it is what it is and the poll is the pole. Tomorrrow I shall do a poll about the borehole funding which may have a more balanced vote.
I note the return proposal has a higher threshold now - edit, but not my much, I powered up a tiny little bit today :P

Had I known about this little vote I would've voted no. But this is the first time hearing of it, and either way the funding of someone's rally career would continue. :D

That's kind of misleading on the people who voted to keep it when one of the accounts only holds 118 HP. Not misleading by you, just skewed in general if you know what I mean. More people need to use the return proposal and set the bar higher for what gets voted on chain.
If you look at the yes votes there is an account with 360HP as well so I guess it's whatever way you look at it. The whole funding of Valueplan itself is that there are a couple of very large accounts who vote for it and it gets it through . If every individual vote had no weight the Valueplan would not be funded if you know what I mean. I guess that's the power of the HP stake.

I know what you mean but I won't ask in the interests of fairness. If I have to ask the people that voted for the rally car the reason then I should be asking the same to the people who voted against it. Unless they leave a comment expressing their opinion I am not gonna push them on it. Maybe they think I'm a dickhead. 😃
Well, I did not notice the poll, but the reason against is quite obvious. I doubt it can pay off, the money spend on the car(s) are wasted to me. I would love to be proven wrong though :)
The most surprising thing about this poll... is that someone voted to keep waisting funds 😅 unless someone has some data that proves that the rally car is doing something useful (and worth hundred of thousands of dollars) for Hive.

I missed that poll! It would have had another "no", as little as it counted. But under current conditions, seems like the right positioning.

I had the time of my life in Frankfurt . It had an edge to it but the Sachenhausen area was great. I lived in Essen and Dortmund for a couple of years as well. Loved in an area called Ruttensheid in Essen . Again great times . The Germans and Irish are more similar than we think with their humour .
Cool, my best buddy lived in Rüttenscheid near Essen (working for Karstadt I think), Dortmund is perfect for football (shit I live in Munich with that useless shit club Bayern) - Frankfurt was my home turf when i started Techno DJ stuff - been there every weekend but as city it is a shit hole (still) -but others think different.
PS: Realized i used three times "shit" - apologies for that.
Last time I looked Bayern are winning all around them with Kane scoring bucket loads. 😄. Yeah I would know the Karstadt well there. I found Dortmund a much bigger shithole than Frankfurt and then Gelsenkirchen is even worse than anywhere but every German knows about Gelsen. 🤣. Munich is a good spot. I was down there just sound visiting my former landlord in Frankfurt in a place called Mt Wank. I found it very funny.
Munich aso changed but it is ok -Frankfurt to me simply a shit hole as i worked there and had issues walking from trainstation to work - was hard - Gelsenkirchen many Assis (as we Germans say) but still nicer as the crowd in Frankfurt - ok biggest sht hole of course is Berlin lol

I, had I been able, would have voted against funding the rally car. The only proposal I currently support is the Return Proposal, which I cannot more strongly recommend that everyone also support exclusively. I have said I will only vote the Return Proposal until proposals commit to using GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles, ie. double entry bookkeeping) to account for their expenditures of DHF funds, which I consider an extraordinarily low bar, particularly for outfits spending $M's they are granted that decreases the value of the Hive platform, as @borislavzlatanov showed in his recent post.
