Morning in Kraków - Qurator's Photo Quest/Silhouette

Hi everyone, I haven't been posting from this account for a very long time. I want to start again with photography, travel, and nature-related posts. What better way to begin than with the Curator's Photo Quest Competition?
So here we go:

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra ( Super Telephoto lens) 115mm f3.4 1/50 sec ISO 500

Catching a sunrise is a rare experience for me—I'm definitely not a morning person. But during a recent trip to Kraków, Poland, at the end of April, something unusual happened. One morning, I found myself still awake as night quietly gave way to dawn. The city was hushed, the world slowly brightening, and I realized I had stumbled upon a moment I couldn’t let slip away.

I took a wide shot from our apartment window, framing the quiet city below. Then I zoomed in and found something I loved—the stark contrast between the black rooftops and the warm orange sky.

I switched to the super telephoto lens and took another shot, this time focusing on the intricate layers that made the scene so special.

There’s a simplicity in the layers of that image:
At the bottom, green trees lit by streetlights.
In the middle, dark silhouettes of buildings.
Above it all, the sky—orange fading into soft blue.

A quiet, unexpected moment. I'm glad I didn't miss it.

I also tried black and white versions of these photos, and I think they came out very nicely, too.

Thanks a lot for reading, hope that you like my photos.
