To visit the Golden Temple, the most sacred place to those who follow the sikh religion there are many "guidelines" to follow

201520669879907.jpg

Both men and women are required to wear a scarf over their head and all visitors must remove their shoes and wash their feet by walking through pools before entering the complex and once inside visitors must walk clockwise around the pool and temple marble walkway

Cigarettes, tobacco and other intoxicants are strictly prohibited and it is not allowed to read or sell newspapers or play cards. Mobile phones must be put on silent or switched off.

Anyone can enter the The Amritsar Sarovar, or "Pool of Nectar," for their own spiritual cleansing and reflection

The use of soap or shampoo is not allowed and swimming is strictly prohibited.

What fantastic shots! I was looking at this direction -- the Sikh lands I've never visited -- but I ended up with the idea going deep to Rajasthan (which I had also never visited except for Udailur 10 years ago). After this post, I feel pain "am I going to miss the Sikh areas??" lol

Divert Divert! Loved Amritsar, been there a couple of times now, and the food is amazing the Sikh people really friendly, the second time I was there an elderly educated gent, introduced me to his younger daughter she was stunning, he was proclaiming her virtues and ambitions I think he was looking to marry her off...shame she was younger than my own daughter LOL

Wow, quite a ritual and many rules to enter that place, which, by the way, is very beautiful. Greetings.
