These are previews from matches involving Belgian Teams with all the latest on team news, player form, and injuries along with my personal betting angles, ...

I Won't be home this weekend but I will try to follow the matches as much as possible and have a short preview on all of them in 1 post today along with some bets that I already took.

Mechelen vs Dender

Mechelen played an ok match taking a 2-2 away score against Standard in a match where there were an exagerated number of goals based on the actual chances. Mechelen also was without Schoofs & Foulon. The first one will be back today and I do expect Mechelen at home to just go for it. When it comes down to Dender, I kind of expected them to have some decompression after staying in the league but they played a good match against a really poor Westerlo winning 1-0 with the usual style of keeping the defensive discipline after they took the lead. So I kind of expect this match where both teams are kind of willing to go forward at the start. Since things are really tight in Playoff 2 I don't expect Mechelen just to walk over Dender and an away win would not really be that massive of a surprise. I took 0.2 units on dender +0.75 @ 1.813 as a pre-game position.

Cercle Brugge vs Beerschot

Cerclewho should be too good for the playdowns seems to be suffering some nerves as they didn't get further than a 2-2 draw away against Kortrijk on top with 11 vs 10 most of the match. They did get a last minute goal against and are now 1 point behind on Stvv with on paper the easiest match now at home against Beerschot who are already relegated. Beerschot lost at home with 0-1 after taking a very early red card. They didn't apply much pressure and it kind of showed that they have noting really to play for anymore. At the same time, they are a team sho showed that they can find motivation. I can see a scenario where Cercle Comes out with very high motivaton and intensity and took just a 0.1 unit bet on Cercle Brugge 1st Half -0.5 @ 2.058. I also would not be surprised if Beerschot manages to score a goal and took 0.045 units on Cercle Win & BTS @ 3.690

Westerlo vs OH Leuven

Weterlo just played a really poor match away and it will be shown today how high their actual motivation still is. OHL played another rather dull game and were kind of dominated by Charleroi who didn't have the quality to break the OHL defense. An excuse for OHL could be that many of the players were kind of ill but still played, they had some players injure themselves in the match and also took a red card. So a 0-0 at the end was kind of a good score for them. Westerlo tends to be an over team while Leuven is an under team. So I expect a match picture where Westerlo takes all the initiative and Leuven is happy to lure on the counters as Westerlo is vulnerable in the back. Motivation and Form of the day will be key aspects in this match. Odds feel about right and I'm staying away.

AA Gent vs Union SG

Union played an excellent home match but also saw Boufal get injured while Vanhoutte is still out. AA Gent didn't play a horrible match against Genk despite the 4-0 score which mostly came late. For me it's not a given that Union will easily win this but at the same time a stretch to go back AA Gent even though their fors lately seems to be ok. I just opt to stay away.

Antwerp vs Club Brugge

Antwerp really looked like they are going to finish last in playoff 1 after losing 5-1 to Union while Club Brugge played an good match especially in the 1st half against Anderlecht in a match that they won with 2-0. I once again expect Club Brugge to take a start where they are just the dominant team and took 0.183 units on Club Brugge 1H -0.25 @ 1.948 which feels worth the risk and also 0.067 units on Club Brugge -0.75 @ 1.940 which kind of feels like a winner. The quality difference should be too big and it feels like Brugge can only really lose from themselves in this one which would not be the first time.

Sint-Truiden vs Kortrijk

Stvv took a big away win against Beerschot who played with 10 all match and just did it with a 0-1 score not taking any kind of risk after they took the lead. they still created 2.28xg and 9 corners while not getting a single one against. Kortrijk remains in a position where only a win really will do if they want to keep some hope to finish 2nd in the playdowns. So it's an away team that needs a win which possibly could lead to a outright away win at their form actually hasn't been that bad or a collapse in case they fall behind and need to take crazy risks. My lean is on Kortrijk & the Over and so far I was only willing to take just 0.1 unit on Over 2.5 @ 1.870.

Anderlecht vs Genk

Anderlecht really was poor away against Brugge trying the strategy to defend and hope on a counter which just didn't work and it feels like their minds are already on the cup final even though they really need to fight still for 4th place which should be achievable. This week, they once again face a Strong team that impressed, and they should just have less quality than Genk at all ends of the pitch. I took 0.112 units on Genk 1st Half +0 @ 1.830 along with 0.069 units on Genk +0 @ 1.781, & 0.045 units on Genk Win & BTS @ 4.670

Charleroi vs Standard

Charleroi showed good mentalty in the away match against OHL but lacked quality not getting further than a 0-0 against 10 players despite creating 2.09xg, Standard reated 1.27xg and was just a little but more willing to go forward compared to the regular season. So I expect Charleroi to be the team with the initiative willing to play forward without Standard just coming to build a wall. the 2 things that kind of hold me back to take the over is the fact that Charleroi hasn't really shown the quality while they also are a team who don't really push and switch to defending at times when they score first. Charleroi on the 1st half corners is an option and also the 1st half over but I haven't pulled any triggers yet.
