And We Have A New Champion With HBD In Savings

avatar
(Edited)

The @lazy-panda account has decided to take advantage of the lucrative 20% APR on HBD and stacked more than 600k HBD.

A few months back (October), this account was not in the top, so its a fresh addition. I waggly remember it has been in the lists, probably a bit lower, but obviously it has decided to up its game.

Probably it is not the single reason, but it can be a big contributor to the latest HBD/HIVE price action. The 20% APR is driving demand for HBD and HIVE.

earn it while u can (and while they're mostly just going for hbd, who knows what they might do once/if witnesses decide to adjust things) :P

I will! The inflation created is still low, I don't thing there is need to change the parameters right now.
We'll see what the next bull run brings!

Now IF we could get some taking 12% from the rewards pool to trade over to hbd both would be better off, imo.

what exactly do you mean?

Staking hive earns ~12% roi.
Holding hbd in savings pays 20%.
It is a better roi to hold hbd in savings.
Yet, many still hold hive power that would be better served by holding hbd.

ah yes, 12% as curation reward?
I only manage to reach 8-10%

but dont forget about the price of hive
you may earn 20% for hbd
but if hive doubles from 25ct to 50ct in just a few weeks that is a big difference
100% in a few weeks
20% in a year

... ^^

Yes, holding hbd is a risk.

You have to add the ~3% directly from inflation that is given to hp holders.
9% is about average for voting.
Rewards are linear for the first 24 hours, then there is a curve that increases up to day 7.

how exactly is curation right now?
where can one get info on how to curate effectively?

the 5min or 10min or 15min window isnt anymore?

xD

They extended the window to 24 hours, then there are 3(?) more windows that increase the penalty for late voting.
The curation rewards that later voters would have gotten are split between those that voted earlier.
The author part stays the same.

so vote in the first 24h or as fast as possible instantly after the 24h? like it was with voting instantly after 5min?

is there a penalty for voting at 0 1 or 2 min?

where can one get more info about this?
I'd like to have some more transparency about all current options and settings

things can change suddenly..

thank you very much :) !

Look on blocktrades' page, he goes through all the hardfork things he wants us to know.
It happened a long time ago.
Hf25 or 26, I think.

The first 24 hours is the optimal time to vote, any later and rewards are diminished.
No penalty for voting instantly.
This was done to disadvantage the bots.

thank you very much, I need to look deeper into it
I'm struggling hard to survive
so I'm not up to date with everything
especially the times when I have nearly no internet connection

how does it punish bots? they can just auto-vote instantly
punishment the first 5-15min seemed more reasonable?
dunno, need to look deeper into it

Bots never sleep, so with the 5 minute window real people were at a disadvantage to get the first vote in, now that doesn't make a difference until after the first 24 hours.
This evens out the field, bots have no advantage to vote early.

This is impressive, but also motivational. I hadn't considered devoting a savings entirely to an HBD allocation but considering how rewarding it is...

This has given me some thought.

That's what you call taking advantage of seriously huge passive income. $10,000 a month would be amazing and the ability to live your dreams. Total freedom.

I am far from reaching the level of the huge whales but I have already invested part of my capital in Savings.

20% is a serious return and HBD is solid in value terms too compared to Hive which has more variance. Exciting times for the chain.

Wow, that is crazy but the 20% APR is quite appealing and it was a matter of time until a solid investor sees that.

My prime target to stake $1.2m. If everything goes quite well then I will triple this amount...maybe $4m.

Can I ask, are you new to Hive and found 20% APR too hard to resist? Or an older account wanting to keep this pile more anon?

Either way, nice one!
