Friday's Fun at the Golf Course

"Let's go for a drive!" the husband suddenly blurted out on waking up in the morning. The LilGuy was thrilled, he jumped into bed from the floor where he was doing his stretching thingy. I was a KJ (killjoy), though. Because I wasn't in the mood to go anywhere during the day, that's because a plan had already been set in my mind the night before - to go out of town on Monday and pick up some deliveries at my sister's place.

So yep, no drive happened. We stayed home instead, and guess what? My lazy arse cleaned and washed the car just before midday, lol! I think it may have been what I needed, because after breaking a sweat, I felt better! Funny, you would say. Another good thing? The cow is ready for tomorrow's escapade if it pushes through.

Anyway, let me share some snapshots taken on Friday at the golf course where our Yongi ran to his heart's content. We had been meaning to go before, but it had always been set aside, so I was chuffed when we were finally going. I was in high school when I last visited the place (that was almost 3 decades ago), and I barely remember what it looked like.

Some signage along the way, screaming it's private property. The place, approximately 1,200 hectares, is owned by a mining company. It has a golf course, an airstrip, and what else.

I like the fact that they kept most of the trees. They even had a reforestation initiative where they planted pine trees on more than 1.5 acres of land.

Some sightings along the way. I was confused; it felt like it was my first time going. My memory of the place has faded somehow.

Anyway, we drove straight to the golf course area, because it's where we know Yongi can play.

We started on this side, where the grass has been trimmed. Some minutes later, three folks arrived with their golf bags and such.

So we took the path leading to the hilly side. From what I see, it's not really well-maintained, although it's generally clean.

And oops, the LilGuy enjoyed marking the tree trunk, lol!

And just when he was having fun, the lady caddy came and told us they were moving up, so she suggested we go to the other spot where our pet can play. Oh well, that's okay.

So we went to the opposite hill. Yongi loved it even more as he had plenty of space to run around.

We had that side for ourselves for some time (about 15-20 minutes) until we heard someone shouting from afar, warning us of an incoming ball. It was our cue to leave the place, since Yongi was already showing signs of exhaustion.

We drove away, thankful for the lovely weather and the wonderful time to enjoy His creation.

Hopefully, we will have another chance to explore the place further, especially the horseback riding facility, which we heard is just nearby.

Yes, they smell nice. I'm not sure where the mining operations are, but yes, the golf course is within the mining site.

That golf course looks huge, and Yongi must have been in heaven running there. So good you got some time just for yourselves, even if the golf balls came later haha.

Yes, it's vast. We didn't even walk on half of it. Yongi had a fun time, he was panting and all, but kept running, lol!

Well it's Funny, how a change of plans can still turn out so good. Love that they kept the trees—it makes the place feel alive. LilGuy marking the tree trunk cracked me up! 😂 Glad you all had such a fun time.

Indeed. It's nice to do things impromptu because they often turn out to be thrilling.

Yongi loves to mark his territories, lol!
