What is the Value in value plan?
Actions vs impact
Lets keep this simple as I feel it needs to be. When developing strategic plans and accountability I often see leaders confuse actions with impact. Defining measurable impact can be difficult but is paramount to success. Before assigning resources and actions to a project most successful leaders would work out the impact they would want to see from the use of resources assigned. This is the basics of strategic planning and leadership and something Hive lacks.
Example
Measurable Impact - Onboard 10 Hive users who power up Hive and post at least 10 times.
Actions - Have a Hive representative at a crypto conference.
Resources - Cost of travel, wages and accommodation and any other promo material.
Success
So now we have a simple measurement of success at the end of the defined action, have the people who have been paid to do this achieved what they were asked to do? If they have then fantastic, this works so lets do it again. If they have not then lets not do it again or look at how we did it and the staffing performance.
Overview
Value Plan take a lot of money without any clear goal or transparent accountability and have a lack of strategic leadership. This is not saying some of what they do is not good but it is not thought out to the point of actually what the value of each action is. Because of this they cannot judge themselves the effectiveness of their actions and of the money they have obtained from the DHF.
A lot of people are asking this. They are getting serious money and we are not seeing the results we need. Some projects may be 'cool', but not effective. Similar questions are asked about the InLeo recruitment. I know I'm not seeing many Brits joining up when I run searches.
It shows how not decentralised it is as they still have no answers and still getting millions of hive… all because of 1 vote
The scale of Hive means that a few people get to decide these things. This is one reason we need more people with a decent stake.

Hive can be crap, but still better than most alternatives.
Sometimes I think we mistake "Serious Money" the amount is similar amount to 4 flats in Poland - or one small shit hole in London.
With same amount of cash we are getting various projects all across the world. Some are obviously questionable and it's worth to ask the questions then because I think the community deserve get those answers.
Generally I can tell you that not everything is so clear - Bring people you get cash - because we might end up with some useless bots - and one steevc is more important than million bots ;) .
Some "uneffective" things such as Bore Holes gives us confidence, we can brag about it and some people will want to even listen what is blockchain because up to the point when you bring some initiatives then they think of crypto as a meme coins. Then even wealthy people want to listen then what is Hive.
I think we need time and I believe with time VP will mature. As the community we need check ups with each year but based on that I feel like VP seems to be more mature and serious.
The amounts in Hive well seem like small beer compared to what gets invested in some tech, but it's a significant percentage of what is created on this chain.
I've heard it said that half of all marketing spending is wasted, but nobody can say which part that is.
I have a lot of doubts about it ...
They remind me a lot of the Venezuelan dictatorship, where everyone does what he wants with money, and the supposed transparency offered by the government is just a great joke.
But of course, this is just my opinion, which has no weight and that is lost in time...
