Nature reserve in the garden

I am writing this post with great gratitude to Providence for what it has provided me in recent years. Right in front of my eyes, in my hands, in my daily life.

You know we have four cats in our yard, in the country house where we have lived for some time. But today I will not write about these animals. And for the fact that the country house has provided us with a great variety of other animals. Which, unfortunately, I'm never ready to shoot. And shooting them is quite a difficult task.

So today I will tell you about two other inhabitants of our garden, at the background of photos of our 4 pets.

Namely - a hedgehog and a toad.

You may know how timorous these animals are both, so it is impossible to photograph them. Besides, I only manage to see them at night, when I go out in the dark in the evening to feed the cats and change their water.

And in fact, it is the cats and their breeding in our yard that is the reason for the appearance of these animals. Because I always find the hedgehog feeding at the bowl with their food. And the toad - IN the bowl of their water 😂🐸.

And I can't take pictures of them, because they both run away when they see me - the hedgehog leaves the food and tries to hide somewhere, and the frog comes out of their water and leaving wet marks on the tiles behind, also hides somewhere.

I will die of laughter with them, but also of tenderness. Because I love these animals so much. And every time I see where they're hiding, I want to pet them.

Which, of course, is almost impossible. Because, do you know how to pet a hedgehog? I tried it already. 😂

And the toad - well, I want to caress it, but I still refrain. 🐸💚

I hope you all know what useful animals are the hedgehog and the toad. The toad is even a protected species. And the fact that it bathes in the cats' water every day doesn't make me angry. On the contrary. The cats have other places and bowls from which they drink water. And I just wash and change the water in this bowl several times a day. IMG_20210827_151544.jpg And what makes me happiest is that cats, these notorious killers of all living things that move in the garden, don't really deal with these two animals and let them eat their food and bathe in their water. These two animals are of no interest to them. They can't fight them, and they can't be eaten. IMG_20210827_151330.jpg So there is a completely peaceful coexistence of these so different species of animals in the garden. Almost like the amazing friendship I showed you some time ago - of an ostrich, a male dog and our female cat.

I don't know, I recently read this: keep your cats indoors, they are not wild animals. The more free cats are, i.e. outdoors, the shorter their lives. But at the same time, what is life without freedom? Maybe only they can say 😸 I enjoy all life in the garden and I'm also glad that these "pets" keep other animals at bay, like snakes, mice, etc., which I don't like so much. 😹
Have a great new week you too!
