Discovering fungus in our environment

Another day, another blog. I'm here to write about my discovery of different mushrooms.

The weather is always changing; it will suddenly rain, and then later it will warm up again. Sometimes I was too lazy to go out because my slippers were getting muddy lol. But today I walked around our neighbourhood to look for mushrooms; our surroundings full of bamboo.

This orange mushroom on an old bamboo tree covered in carabao grass was the first thing I noticed. This orange mushroom's vivid color truly caught me off guard. I had never seen it before.

Another mushroom I saw was orange-colored with brown mixed with burnt bamboo trees; actually, there are many growing, and the colors are different in the next picture below.

Another mushroom that is that brown colour. I don't know if it's orange that faded and just turned brown, but I think it's not. What do you think?

Another purple-colored mushroom that astounded me again because of it's color, haha. Look at this; I think it's cute, too bad it's not edible. But when I touched it, it felt hard.

I discovered another small oyster mushroom on the bamboo root covered in green moss. And I believe this is edible because this is what my father picks and cooks. so, I hope they grow more so that I can pick and cook as well. Hehe.

The white mushroom is known as Schizophyllum commune. I saw it and old bamboo again, but it's a different place. Based on my search, this fungus is edible and actually grows on old wood.

After walking around,I returned home because my husband had called me because my son was hungry. haha, lol. Then I took a bath in my sisters-in-law' s water well pump our house, but while I was bathing, I noticed another fungus and a different colour growing on the bamboo that they use to wash clothes. That was ear wood; I'm not sure if this is edible.

On the other side, there are tiny black fungi. They look exactly like the typical small white fungi I see, but this one is different because it is black.

I had a great time looking for fungi today and discovered a variety of colours. Small and large fungi grow on bamboo trees, and I had no idea that some of them are edible but not cooked, and others are used in medicine in ways I don't understand. That's just around us; I haven't been to the ones that aren't frequently visited here in the forest.

I'll see you in my next blog, and thank you for reading my post. Peace and love!

It’s lovely how a simple walk can turn into a whole discovery when you start noticing the mushrooms around you. The colors and shapes you described make them sound like little hidden gems growing right on the bamboo, and your reflections show how much beauty there is when you take a moment to look closely. 😍

This is sooo nice! I love that they're not just one type of mushroom. I should definitely look for these too when I visit our province. We also have bamboo trees but I haven't really looked into it like this. Soo cool!
