Often, when we come across the word "King", we would usually link it to a royal family, a prestigious person that rules over a piece of land and a population of people living on it.

While in recent times, the royals mostly no longer holds executive rights in most democracies today, they still command high respect by virtue of their bloodline.

In fact, there are many mini "Kingdoms" in our corporate world nowadays. Where the head of a department very often lords over his report upon ascending the "throne" Some who are more democratic rulers who would still accord his reports some options or choice, so they are still able to choose. while many who have been "ruling" for a long while often forget they rise from the very rank the people he is commanding over holds.

Will the company become inefficient because of this ruler? While it really depends on the people he is having control over, as a leader don't lead without followers, A king don't rule if he don't have subject. But any uprising that oppose the king in the corporate world comes with a risk, as the ruler does have a final say over his subject's increment and which subject to let go in bad time when the company or department have to reduce headcount.

Food for thought? Everybody.
